If you have voted in a survey in one page (namely Features -> Surveys or Homepage) and vote again in other page (Features -> Surveys // Homepage but in reverse order), then codeproject counts every vote.

It does also count your vote multiple times if there is a timeframe (IDK how long) between each vote.

Is slightly flawed: the page number and Next page buttons all take you to the ".NET Framework" forum instead of to the appropriate page in the "Insider News" forum...
Ignore me...somehow I ended up in the wrong forum...dunno how?

Is it possible for someone to accept donations by putting a donation button at the bottom of their article? Or is it against the rules and principles of this site?
|
|

|

It really is against the principals of the site. Other users have been slapped around for trying this. I helped with the slapping.

As would I. The whole point to Code Project is the Free exchange of knowledge.

Yep. I am currently working on a queuing system in C++. I may could make some money with it - But I will not because I think it will make programmers life easier and I have read so many things on CP which made my life easier, therefore I'll post an article about it when it is done (far away from even being done with bugs).
Call me sentimental but that's the way I think about the CP community - it is about receiving and giving something back.

Really? I don't think so. Make sure you read the CodeProject.TV's welcome message by Chris Maunder:
You are the experts in your field – why not take your articles to the next level and make video tutorials? You set your prices and we'll take care of transcoding, hosting, streaming, tracking and billing for you.
So, as Chris is suggesting, why not take our articles to the next level and put some donation button below them. I am NOT talking about setting prices. The articles will be still free. I am only talking about accepting donations.

I wasn't referring to CodeProject.TV, but only CP itself.

Dear all I was reading this article Using C# to Monitor Bandwidth
and what I usually do when I find a useful article is checking the author's profile for more extra cool things
and the profile in this case is for Tyronne Thomas and it shows 'Articles 0 (Writer)'
so is that a bug needs to fix ,or false alert !?
hope being useful !
There is always hope ..!

The article which you was reading isn't an article, but a tip.
Here are all the tips of the author: http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/Tyronne-Thomas#tips[^]
And if you go to his profile, then you will see:
Tips/Tricks 6
So, "Articles 0 (Writer)" is correct, because the member hasn't posted articles, but tips.

This is just a quality issue which might make for clarity when it comes to figuring out who is ... conversing with ... whom.

Hi CP,
Editor points are not getting added every time you edit any resource in CP.
Sometimes the count increments, sometimes not.
Is there any issue ?
Did anybody see this issue ?
Thanks,
Tadit

Have a look: Chris' Answer[^]
In addition: There have been more than one message speaking about problems in server Synch. Do a few reloads and you will get your points.

Okay. Thanks...
So, currently they are working on these points issue.

That is exactly what Chris said in the answer I linked. Don't worry, soon will be everything ok with your reputation.

Yes. Exactly.
I just asked the question here to confirm whether it is an issue or not.
Thanks for your help.

I would say it is a bug, or am I maybe missing something?

Edit:
I think it had to do with Servers-Synch. After a few reloads the message was shown as automatically removed. I guess Lounge users were faster nuking him than me writing the answer

I noticed that, when I write a solution to a question and post it, as soon as I post it the browser refreshes and there is a solution already been given similar to mine.
If there was a feature that popups while I editing a solution that there is a solution has been posted to the question that I have been editing for, and do I want to update the browser to see the solution before I post mine.

Jegan

There's a misconception in that statement that there's a solution posted in this time window. This may, or may not, be the case. This doesn't make your answer any less valuable, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree with Pete.
The probability that two answers for the same question are so similar that one is not needed anymore is not so big.
Even then, if you end your answer and then you see that other one was posted. You can still read the other one and decide what to do with yours (delete, change and so on)
It might be that both answers are very similar in the technical aspect, but the asker maybe understand your solution better, because you explained it easier as the other person.

At the moment, if I login to CP and left the browser alone for a long period of time, I have refresh the browser to see if there is any new notification.
Wouldn't it be nice to have the notification updated automatically? Or is this feature already available that I do not know how to set it up?
