It seems that The Soapbox has become the accepted Forum for the endless Climate Change Debate.
If so, it makes sense to remove the 'this is not the forum foe endless Climate Change debate' in the text at the top of the forum?

Frankly I haven't bothered checking the Soapbox for a while, but no, I'm not going to encourage climate bickering on this site. If we had a panel of experts who actually wotk in the field, both for and against, it would be fascinating. However, we don't. Not even close.

I think the OP's involved would beg to differ, Chris...
I wasn't, now I am, then I won't be anymore.

This implies you don't find it fascinating now.

I find it difficult to be fascinated by anything you might post.

I'm writing a book about the pointless and inane drivel that can be found on the internet, and I'm using your posts as prime examples.

Just write an autobiography instead, it will be a lot easier.

You already are Dave, but I had to restrict your participation to just two CCC threads. Space restrictions and all... I hope you understand.

To the web administrator:
The Item "Your Country " in "my settings" of "member pages" is NOT suitable, change it to be "your country or region" will be better.
Best regards.

Could you please clarify why the term 'country' is innapropriate?

just as "Taiwan" ,you call it as a country will be inapropriate , Taiwan is an inalienable part of the inviolable territory of China.
So you'd better change "country" to "country or region" .
Best Regards.

We have chosen to include it in the Country list because that's how it appears in the Geolocation services we use, and being consistent has its benefits. I've not had a single member from Taiwan complain about our labelling but will certainly take their complaints to heart should they choose to voice them.

Apart from the nonsense about Taiwan, the OP has a good point. Right above "Your Country" on the Settings page, there is the line that says: Code Project Location based Services. So changing "Your Country" to "Your Location" would be a tad more consistent.

"So you'd better..."? That's the same as me insisting that Texas be listed as it's own country (which it is if you believe the tourist advertising). Lighten up Sparky - your use of this site isn't going to be affected in any way by the way countries are listed. This ain't the place to be political - we're programmers, not stuffed shirts that worry about territories, regions, or anything else of that ilk.
If I were Chris, I'd delete your account, but then again, I can be quite the prick...
