C# -- simple Voice recording

Hello,

I've been developing a client-server chat application and is now looking to extend it with voice support.

The problem is I don't know how :-D I've googled the web and every article was written before they ditched directx support for C# -- I am using windows 7 with VS2010, so it's .net framework 4 for me.

Since directx is dropped, is there actually any (simple) way to record/read voice from a microphone? I am basically for the most basic way and then extend it further as I learn.
