Sounds like this is your ultimate goal. And considering this, it's you and your professor that can well judge and decide the 'standard'. It would depend on what has been taught, what you know, what's you apptitude is towards learning and what expectations your professor has regarding you and your project.

I would suggest you to go and discuss the same with your Professor. Know what all is good to have and try out in your final year project. Try it. If you face any issues, surely you can ask us, we will try to help you out.

These 2 statements contradict themselves. I would hope you clarify this when looking for a job upon graduation.

That being said, think of any type of website, large or small, corporate or commercial. They can likely be build in ASP.NET. Do you have any interests outside of coding? If so, I'm sure you can find a way to build a site related to this interest.

I saw that as well and had to read it a second time to make sure I read it correctly. My hunch is that this question is going to degrade into a "Could you provide a full sample source code" type question...

Marcus,

I'm not sure, but this aspect is indeed a suspect (pun unintended).
We saw quite a few questions like that expressing no real interest in the work itself. This is sad.

wizardzz: probably you're a decent worker if you see contradiction here. I don't understand such people as well, but I saw too many of such cases: working with something that they never understand (I know a case when a patient "worked" like that almost all his lifetime as he was old, still not understanding anything). Sad but true. This is all reduced to the question what do we call "work"...

Hi friend,

I am happy to look at your post on codeproject. It is good that you are very much interested in selecting your final project. Normally doing a web application involves lots of standards. You just tell the time limitation that you have for developing the application. Based on that I will suggest u what project to do.
