list item doubt...missing assebly reference

using System.Collections;

List<datetime> dtholidays = null;

The type of namespace or name List could not be found. Are you missing a using directive or assembly reference ?

--I am using
--using System.Collections;

But still where its going wrong ?

Well, one thing is for sure. You're not using C, but C#. That's a huge difference
