Can I get a entry level programming position without a college degree?

I have kind of just started programming using C#, and I wanted to know if I studied programming books hard enough how long would it take for me to qualify for an entry level position? I can read two chapters a day of any book.

If I had to employ someone... I would not give so much credit to the degree and more to the interview and proofable knowledge.

The problem is... although many of the good people here thinks similar... the companies' world is another point. Many companies don't even take a look to your CV if you don't have a degree.
