You might be drawing slightly outside the window. I am not sure though. I did have a similar kind of problem some time back.

If that was the case then the origional making color in the bitmap should be showing (which is red) instead of this black. I have been playing around with the code and narrowed it down to the WS_EX_LAYERED for which I am using to fade in and fade out. For some reason it is replacing my selected NULL_BRUSH for the background with a BLACK_BRUSH.

As I suspected, the WS_EX_LAYERED extended style causes a lot of flicker. As soon as the animation is complete I remove the extended style and the problem goes away.

Thanks for reply. generally those people are asking for free who r not doing such thing that will give any profit back to him/her they just want to test something. I am doing such a thing cause if anybody else want to work on the samething and i have the solution then i can provide him/her. I cant be sure but it may be one of them will be u. So never underestimate those people who wants some free though its urgent.
i was asking that i dont want the inbuild compiler is there any else?

I need a free IDE NOW! I must have it ASAP! I can't pay a single cent for it, but I need it yesterday!

The Microsoft compilers are available as part of the Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2[^]. That link goes to the Web install; if you decide to install lots of components you may prefer the full download or ISO image download.
Note that this compiler is slightly pre-release; the version of the compiler is 14.0.40310.41 in the Platform SDK, while the released version from VS2005 Professional Edition is 14.0.50727.42.

It's quite a new information for that PSDK congtains a 64 bit compiler.
In the system requirements section, it's saying like this
Development Tools. To build the C/C++ samples, you must have a C/C++ compiler. If you are using Microsoft Visual C/C++®, run it at least once before installing the SDK. This will ensure that the environment variables are correctly configured. To build the Visual Basic samples, you must have Microsoft Visual Basic®. This SDK does not support working with Microsoft Visual C/C++®, 6.0 as support for VC 6.0 has ended. The last SDK that will work with VC 6.0 is the February 2003 Edition, you can order a CD on the fulfillment site. Side by side installations are not supported.

I'm pretty sure the MS one is in the Windows SDK for Vista RC1. You should be able to use it with Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition.

learn to use words the way they are spelled in a dictionary. reading '4' as 'for' is really painful. i see absoultely no reason why a "with" can be replaced by "vth". is it that difficult to type in a few extra letters ?
