My phone is ringing when i put the required information.
1 . when phone rings i want ot disconnect it or stop ringiing the phone.
2. How to accept the call and i want ot detect the caller number & want to show in the text box.

The only way I'm aware of, is to read the XML file yourself and then create the controls at run-time depending of what you read from the file. To parse the XML file, you can perhaps use TinyXML[^] which is quite powerfull.

i have downloaded an user interface application from codejock.com. it has a very good gui. he is importing control properties from an xml file and calling control functionalites from a dll. i want to have in my application. how to do that?

Impossible to say without knowing what technologies he is using.
Does he uses MFC ? Or is it a special GUI ?
I think the easier is to ask directly to the guy who developped this thing (or at least provide a link to what you are talking about).

 How can we help if you don't provide more information ? We have absolutely no clues at all of how he managed to do what you are looking for (and it's not by saying that he supplied exe, xml and dll that it will help a lot). But, why don't you simply use what he provided ?
And also: how do you know that functionalities for the control is added in the dll (or something like that, because I still don't understand what you are looking for with this dll).
And, what was the problem with my first answer ?
Moreover, do you know what you are talking about ? Because if you just saw something nice somewhere on the net that you want to reproduce but you have no clue about what you are talking about and hope that we will provide you with a complete solution, then you are going in the wrong direction, because we don't have any idea neither (*take a deep breath after a so long sentence*  )

We can presume that the combination of LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress functions is the thing that you finally will achieve. In this case perhaps you need the list of features available in that DLL, in form of *.h header files.
In case of MFC, it may be some specific methods for invoking features from DLL.

Now im trying to draw an owner draw Tab control.
From most of the code i have seen, the tabs are drawing when a WM_PAINT receives not inside the DrawItem function.
I have written some code to draw items and it is working. the problem is, a border is drawing around the tab buttons and around the control by the base class which is not required. I want to draw it my own. I'm not handling the paint message. so what I have to do for drawing border around the tab control? or atleast how could I specif the color to draw the tab border?

I suppose you should first remove window styles related to borders (WS_BORDER, WS_THICKFRAME) from your custom control, and then draw the border you want in client area.

Actually I haven't given any border for my control.
it is the default border, drawn by the CTabCtrl around the tab buttons.
Some other message or function is doing this. I want to know how could I change the border or how can i change the color

I am afraid it is not so easy to interfere into built-in drawing procedures of the tab control. I suppose drawing is performed in the handler for WM_PAINT message. Some other controls post WM_CTLCOLOR message, which allows some customization, but this is not the case of the tab control. You have either to implement a custom owner-drawn control, derived from CControl, or simply try to draw your borders over the original ones.

What exactly is the problem? Is it a compiler/linker error, or a runtime issue? Is an exception being thrown, or an assertion being fired?

Hi
I want to change WIDTH of my rich edit control as user types text in it, so that it displays the entire text instead of scrolling text horizontally. My rich edit is a multiline control
I have used EN_REQUESTRESIZE notification msg but this works only for adjusting height of control and EN_REQUESTRESIZE is working perfectly in case of height, i.e I use to change the control height when i get this msg to show all lines of text.
kindly help!!!! its urgent

If your problem is the scroll-bars that unexpectedly appear even after you resized the rich edit control during ENM_REQUESTRESIZE, then please note that the new control size probably should include the width of the control’s borders. Try to specify a little bigger size.
Otherwise, what exactly occurs when you type a long line of text?

No the problem is not with scroll-bars the problem is that when user types some text in the control and the text reaches right border of control than how much should i increase width of my edit control (based on current font size, face name etc..) so that the next character typed, is visible and no scroll bar or word-wrapping should occur.
And when the control's width reaches right border of dialog than word wrapping should occur.

Hi
If you want somthing more serious then volume serial number (GetVolumeInformation) which you can change, try to use http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/hard_disk_serialNo.asp. Additionally here is [^] whole another project. In my case it doesn't work properly with all drives but you can try.
