thanks for ur reply, plz tell me windows uses win32 APIz or DirectX for audio purposes ?, and other person should have installed directsound to use my application or my exe file will not bother?.thanks

Windows uses Win32-API. Dx was introduced as an API for games and multimedia-appz in the middle of the 1990s.

DirectX is included in windows since Windows98. In windowsXP sp2 DirectX 9.0c and .NET 1.1 framework (in the english version, but not in the german Roll eyes | :rolleyes:

) is included, so everyone should run your application.

thankyou very much,in my system DirectX is installed but i could not add the reference of Microsoft.DirectX, it gives an error, i search in my system but could not find the DirectX.dll.plz tell me the way to add the reference of DirectX dll, once again thankx for ur reply

hi,i am using windows xp with service pack-2, i think DirectX should already exist in my system, but anyhow i installed DirectX 9 from CD. but he problem is still there.

Hi,

take a look at your HDD. Do you have these files on your hdd (look at the picture here http://img455.imageshack.us/my.php?image=manageddx8ot.png[^])?

These are the managed DirectX-files you need Roll eyes | :rolleyes:

Using C++ class in C# project

Hi!
This may be a rookie question, but the truth is I can't do it: how do I use a C++ class in a C# project?
I have a C# project that works just fine, but I need to use a class implemented in a C++ project. I simply added the C++ project to my solution but I keep getting bulding errors. Is this the right thing to do?

Is your C++ class written in Managed C++? Only classes written in MC++ are accessible from C#.

I'd like to know if its possible to repeat an image instead of streching it for a specified width/height (rectangle).

I tried to see if a DrawImage(...) method allowed me to do that, but to no result.

I'm working on a ASP.Net and C# project and want to send email through exchange server and
I only have a mailbox folder name (like "User 1") which exists on exchange server. If I send
email to "User 1" through my MS Outlook it works fine but I don't know how to obtain email
address of "User 1" from exchange server from my ASP.Net, C# application.

Can anyone post sample code or give some direction to resolve this issue.

Any help will be appreciated.

I m Displaying an instance of independent form as modally mean with ShowDialog() method in the child of a Prent Form. i want to make the displayed modal Showdialog Form notmoveable(normally we move a dialog box with help of mouse click and drag the dialog changing its location). I want to keep the location of the dialog fix. Or in other word i want to limitize its location within a specied Area. How to achieve this purpose. Please help me.

Hi,

i need to work with an unmanaged dll and in each function i want to use i have a struct as parameter. The layout of this struct is given in a c header file, but i'm not sure how to get this working in c# Frown | :(

Here is apart of the struct:

there is no wide character in c#. can i use a char?

Hi,

you have to install the Microsoft DirectX 9.0c SDK (the newest SDK is from october 2005: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=1C8DC451-2DBE-4ECC-8C57-C52EEA50C20A&displaylang=en)

and Managed DirectX. Also, you have to put a reference to the dlls in your VS oder #d-project.

Hi there I've encountered a small problemo......
I'm trying to change brightness of an image...so far so good.

However I managed to make it work on 24-bit format images. When the filter is fed with an image which is either 8bit indexed or 32-bit formats...it fails!

...is there any way to access 8-bit indexed images with C# pointers!

I was observing this message board and found out the following code:

Yes, you can use the above code to convert your image to 24bpp or 32bpp format (as you already know, Image.Clone does not produce this functionality, as it was expected). With 24bpp image you can use most of image processing filters.

Yes, there is. Use LockBits. But, you will get troubles if you have color indexed image (like GIF). As you can see from my first article, I am using 24bpp format for color images, 8bpp indexed for grayscale images. Both formats I am processing using LockBits. And in the case of grayscale image it's rather obvious to implement brightness filter (the same logic as for 24bpp).

Hi all,

I’m developing a client/ multi-threaded server and I’m a little bit concerns about the following:

Although at the server program (in which I run a service that runs this program at the background) I’m releasing unnecessary resources once I finished from them, I found that as clients joins the application, the Task Manger indicate an incensement at the memory assigned to the server application. Any idea of how I could minimize these Memory consumption

guys,

Can someone give me an Idea or link on how to handle a header / detail in my web application..

Scenario: Once the user completed the header information (textboxes) he will fill up the detail it can be many and at the same time the detail screen is on another page. After filling up the first ROW I will press the ADD button to create a header/detail record but in this case I dont want to save it directly to my SQL server until all the details has been done. Then, I press the SUBMIT button.

Can I do it in session variable or should I save it first to XML file then upon pressing the submit button I will save it to database.

Does anybody have noticed a peculiar behaviour in VS.2005 beta 2 considering visual inheritence ?
I can't figure out if it's some buggy situation or it's a fault of mine.

I create an inherited form inheriting from another form, based in an external dll.All dependencies are already loaded in the final solution.After completing the wizard i get some curious messages in random order.

1."Cannot unload assembly 'final solution'.exe because its not a valid .NET framework assembly" ????????
2.It spits out an error about version confict between the external DLLs.
3.VS is closing immediately without saving anything and without making a dump.

I would appreciate a comment of someone met such behaviour because i feel if it's a bug i'm losing my time.

Hi,

VS2005 is still BETA. I also have some craches while working with the VS2005. In my opinion MS should release a BETA3 insted of the final, because the IDE is still instable. I don't have access to the RC, so I can't say, if the IDE of the RC is more stable.
