I'd have thought it was implicit by virtue of all the other posts being in English. I do think it's important to be tolerant of posters for whom English is not their first language, but I also think that we can't possibly have forums where people post in lots of languages, which, mostly, most of us will not understand.

I am not sure what the "right" attitude is; being tolerant is certainly part of it,
bashing other languages is not. Maybe the basic question is: do we want
Chinese, Russian, French, ... programmers develop their own "CodeProject" sites
(segregation), or do we endorse one programmers community (integration) ?

One thing is clear to me, we should not expect the whole world to speak
one common language, that is just not realistic; and consider, if (and by the time)
we did it probably would be Chinese, not English.

I happen to live in the European Community, I know what language issues are
about. We are finally learning to work together, and we achieve that without
imposing a single language. Unfortunately, we do have a notion of "working
languages", the ones in which official EC documents can originate, and
the "other languages" (such as Dutch, my native language).

When I Google for something I find most hits are in English, but often some
are in French, German, ... and even some languages I cant recognize (because
I dont know them and/or my system does not have the fonts to show them properly).
It is a global world, wether we like it or not.
If the same were true for CodeProject, so be it.

We will have to let the wise men decide, or let it grow whatever way it grows...

BTW: I tend to answer in the language of the question (if I know it sufficiently),
even so if I know very well the OP speaks Dutch or French.
That's out of courtesy towards the other members.

I'm not very good at c++ but I think this syntax means the code is identified in c++.in c# there is a middle language that makes converting easy.there must be somthing like this in c++ too.
about using google maps .my problem is somthing else I want to show any kind of map in c#.do you no any way to disighn such a control in c#?

No, C++ does not compile to a managed runtime.

Google maps will work in a winforms app if the PC is online, via a web browser control. Dundas sells mapping controls, which I assume work offline.

It's for the managed version of C++/CLI, which is not, strictly speaking, C++ but rather C++ with .NET extensions that sits on top of the .NET runtime. This is usually referred to as managed C++ or C++/CLI and not just C++.

Christian's statement that C++ does not compile to a managed runtime is entirely correct and accurate. Managed C++ (or C++/CLI) does compile to a managed runtime.

Dear friends,

i have a problem in binding data to ASP.net 2005 Tree control.

i have fetched data from database. Using for loop i colud create treeview nodes, i have 10,000 recordes to display so it takes more time in using for loop and creating the treeview.

i want to assign the data source to the treeview as we assign to datagrid?
how to do that?

Hi!
The SelectionChanged event is raised when a datagridview is constructed, when the datasource is assigned. How can I avoid that my actions in the event handler are only applied when the user changes the selection?

Are you saying you only want to do something when the user clicks on a different row from the one that he's currently selected? You might want to look here[^] for a tip.

The easiest way is the HTML accesskey[^] attribute.

Either put a Label with the according shortcut in front of your TextBox (with respect to tab order) or set KeyPreview to true for the Form and handle key presses yourself.
In that case you can use the TextBox.Select() method.

Just use the first suggestion: Put a label next to your TextBox, set its Text to something containing "&d" (A&ddress) and assign the tab order to all controls on your form in a way that the label is immediately in front of the textbox.
No additional programming required - works every time.

Oh, and by the way (although I didn't actually try your code) - why are your creating a new Keyboard object? Have you taken a look at the KeyPressEventArgs? They contain everything you need...

Hi,

Someone asked me to help him with the following piece of software, and I don't know even where to start looking. Will this be a big project?

We’re busy with a project developing a website, the background is the tricky part. We’re supplying a scanner that will scan to a FTP site. That part is the easy one, it can scan in pdf and jpg format. The delivery notes they’re scanning will have barcodes on, we need software to read the barcodes and rename the file names according to the codes.

Hi!
You have to take care to use the correct name for the resource. Usually you have to prefix the object's filename with the namespace of your application (e.g. "WindowsApplication16.MIS_1.png" or whatever your namespace is).

Hi,

I cant remember all the details, so this is what I do:

- add the image file to the project, set it to "embedded resource"
(you probably did that already)
- use Designer to add some control (say picturebox) that consumes an image,
and set it up to use your image
- now look at the code Designer has generated for you, and copy/paste what you need
- throw away what you no longer need

Works the first time every time.

Hi,

I have created a class. In that I have written the following code:

I have added the Header file "using Vishal.TextFileUtils"

When Run the application, I found the error like KeyNotFoundError(I have bold where I am getting the error). Which I not able to find what is happening.

So, the general flow for this application is:

1. CSV Input File is created by user or external application
2. My Application reads data in from CSV file
3. My Application converts records from the CSV file to a new format (xls format)
4. My Application outputs to text file.

Please let me know if you require additional information.
