The chief executive wants people to remember that artificial intelligence is a tool, not actual human intelligence. "Remember when I promised to kill you last?"

Recall can take screenshots of everything a user does on the company's new AI-powered laptops Maybe they'll fine them before the feature gets released?

Since the announcement of the RustRover Public Preview eight months ago, we’ve been hard at work shaping our vision for this feature-rich Rust IDE. Like their other IDEs, but this one could do with some sanding and new paint
There must be someone with a Land Rover that's already using the name RustRover?

Microsoft says that the Windows Update for Business, which helps in the deployment of such feature updates, now adds the option for admins to choose between whether that update is "required" or "optional" for their users. Gone force-installed updates, enter coerced updates
Windows corruption by any other name smells as sweet.

Microsoft says WinUI 3 and WPF are the native UI platforms to invest in going forward. Ah ha haHAha ha! Good joke, dude.

What if your clipboard were a place AI could work its magic? With the PowerToys Advanced Paste update, it’s all possible (for a small fee). I'm afraid I can't paste that, Dave

Are they messing with copy paste? Here is something that can break the internet as we know it...

To provide you with the most modern and efficient options, we are replacing VBScript with more advanced alternatives such as JavaScript and PowerShell. Find out what VBScript deprecation means for you and how you can get ready. What's the word for reading an obituary when you thought the feature was already dead?
There has to be one of those long German words for it?
That sound you hear is a couple of ASP classic websites about to go dark.

So will the Windows Scripting Host also be depreciated. It's the VBScript engine for Windows.

It would probably have to - it sounds like they're pulling the DLL, so that would kill all those.
They have been pushing WSH users for a while to go to PowerShell. That's a bumpy transition.

My plan to ignore VBScript paid off! (Okay, they pay was poor, but...)

Quote: It's often embedded within HTML pages to add dynamic interactivity and functionality to web pages ...
Excuse me?!
IIRC, that only ever worked in Internet Explorer. Given the limited reach, I don't think it was "often" used in HTML even back in the 90s. In the words of The Big Yin[^], I'd be "shocked and stunned, and more than a little amazed" if anyone was still using it in HTML today.

I was thinking/hoping that was a poor description of ASP Classic. But I might be giving them too much credit.

Sometime between May and September, a white dwarf is expected to go thermonuclear. "Blame it on the bossa nova"

Good job they specified it's a white dwarf. If it were a red dwarf, I'd blame it on Cat[^].

Low-code tool kit for creating custom copilots will also gain connectors that allow copilots to use various data sources including public websites. Instead of having AI write your code, write no code to run your AI

Kent Sharkey wrote: Low-code tool kit for creating custom copilots will also gain connectors that allow copilots to use various data sources including public websites. Whatever the f*** would be wrong with a simple statement such as "Copilot toolkit will allow you to use many different data sources, such as public websites, to build custom Large Language Models."????
