Footy! (God's own game, not that slug fest they play up north)

Another sport that my Swedish grandmother would have derisively noted as having en avlång boll (an oblong ball).

She might also have remarked on the fact that it's mostly played with the hands, not feet, so handoblong not football.

Thank you.
We'll be having a BBQ and lazing about the pool (nice day for it, about 30C).
It's cricket season at the moment, AFL/League/Rugby start in few weeks.

I was clearly overthinking it ...

This is definitely the most useful new (to me) word that we've had in the CCC. It appeared in a question on a recent episode of Richard Osman's "House of Games" on BBC2 and my wife was amazed that I knew the answer; I only knew it because it had been a CCC.

I saw the same question, on the same show, and gave the same answer!

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you

Grawlix = game heard to cause colds - can you enlighten us, mere lurkers? 😀

A "Grawlix" is the punctuation marks used to replace profanity: "£$%*" instead of "the F-Word" for example.
It has nothing to do with this clue or solution, but was a comment about the probably difficulty of tomorrows clue - Randor is know to post fiendish ones!

Sorry, I misread the thread; thought "grawl-ix" somehow related to sound was the solution.
And it looks I'm dumber than I thought as I come from the land of killer draughts[^]

It's a completely normal (plain text) CCC but it's just cleverly hidden and obfuscated somewhere on my profile page. It's not a trick or something you need to find with your eyes, it's a normal textual clue. Tomorrow I will drop a hint on how to locate it if it has not been found. Something inside my profile is much more than meets the eye.

Given that the image contains the letters CCC, do we need to be able to read the word underneath "Microsoft Macro Assembler" - I've tried enlarging it but can't make it out ...

It's not a vision test, there is a large amount of information hidden somewhere on the profile page. Don't worry, tomorrow morning I will reveal how to obtain stage 1 of the puzzle. Talented individuals with unique skills might be able to solve it early.

Sorry, I'm not one of those. I tried and the only thing I could find was... a bug! My devious mind thought of going to Google cached page[^] to compare it with the current profile (I know, this is a bit like cheating but, in love and war... ). The only difference I could spot is that in the cached image David is a member since March 6, 2003 and in the current one the date is March 7th 2003. Probably a minor bug on the database end of the site.
