If you have a bunch of smackarooniesUSA to spend I recommend purchasing the Star Wars (radio series). I was fortunate to have heard the 13 episodes of the "Star Wars" radio adaptation during its original broadcast on NPR in 1981. Each week for 13 glorious weeks I was treated to a thrilling experience. I only now learned radio adaptions of "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" were also made. Details can be found on Wikipedia Star Wars (radio_series)[^]. I am surprised other works are not presented as radio dramas considering how pleasurable an experience that was. May the Series Be With You

It's day 5 since I tested positive (day 6 from onset of symptoms) and I am finally able to sit upright for more than an hour. The missus (who just got over it) left on day 2 for a scheduled family beach vacation with the kids/grandkids so I have been completely isolated since Monday morning.
I hear it's different for everyone and largely depends on virus strain, preexisting conditions, vaccinations/boosters, age, etc. My personal experience is that it felt like having a bad case of the regular flu that I used to get every 4-5 years. That said, the experience has cost me almost a week of downtime!
Sad but true, yesterday I saw two maps of the US, high temps and covid outbreaks...they looked identical! On a larger scale, it seems the entire northern hemisphere is setting temp records. I feel badly for those without A/C during these extremes.

Knock wood, I have not got it yet. I have both Pfizer vaccinations and the first booster.
However, my wife is a Registered Nurse, working part-time, and I believe it is only a matter of time before it gets me.
My wife says it won't happen because I am so mean, that germs and viruses commit suicide the minute the get into my body.
Sorry you are not feeling well.

I have the same vaccination profile and have not had it either.

I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Ditto, except I got the Moderna and first booster. The new variant didn't care!
To be fair, I hadn't been wearing a mask at all.

Masks don't protect you. They're more correctly termed face diapers because they catch what you exhale and keep it from spreading to other people.

For the nth time, we really need a sarcasm tag/icon. I can't tell if you are joking or serious. If serious, then I'll just let my reputation do the talking. Even programmers get sick.

I just reviewed the forum rules stickied at the top, and I dont see any rules listed there that his post violates. In fact, this discussion topic seems to fall pretty squarely within the intended purpose of this forum:
- The lounge is for the CodeProject community to discuss things of interest to the community, and as a place for the whole community to participate. It is, first and foremost, a respectful meeting and discussion area for those wishing to discuss the life of a Software developer.
Getting sick with the ongoing pandemic seems to be of interest to the community and part of the life of a software dev.
What forum rule do you think was violated here?

Again, for the confused among us, this forum is a technical one. NOT a medical one.
There are dedicated forums online for the discussion on subjects like fashion, sports, travel or health concerns and anxieties. There is also professional support for those who feel they need it only a google away.
On this forum we discuss subjects exclusively on computer science/computer engineering.
Read the policy again just as you would read the documentation of an API and find the bug in your thought process if you feel opposed to the above.
Admins/Moderators please take action. There are users here who shall not allow the decades-long quality of this forum to be compromised.

The note above this forum specifies what's OK. Technical posts, at least in the form of questions and lengthy posts, are actually to be avoided. There are technical posts about what people are working on, often to vent, but there are also Wordle results, cryptic crosswords, and jokes (usually puns). Yesterday, even a link to a cat video. It would be a dry site if every post had to be technical. The only things off-limits are topics that are likely to lead to flame wars or trolling.

Do you mean the text at the top of this forum that reads:
Quote: Welcome to the Lounge
For discussing anything related to a software developer's life but is not for programming questions.
Now, read that a few times, mull it over, and find your own bug.
I suggest you also translate/lookup the word 'lounge' and better yet, go visit one and get a real experience. (of course wear a mask!) It might enlighten you and lighten you up a bit. Chill out.

This is "the lounge"; not a "technical forum".
OP is recounting a "personal" experience; that's what people "lounging" about sometimes do.

I've had it 3 times confirmed, maybe 4.
First time I got it I was exhausted, had heavy flu symptoms and it took 10 days to clear up.
After 2 vaccines and getting it a couple of times, it's now just a minor headache and some tiredness for 2-3 days.

When I went to find my keys I noticed the garbage needed taking out, out my way out to the garbage I met the neighbor and he went on and on until the mail person came. So I collected the mail and went back inside. The better half asked me to hang a picture so I had to go to the shop to get drill motor and while I was there I noticed that my new CNC machine needed cleaning so I went to turn on the compressor. So I blew that off, got the drill motor went inside, hung the picture then layed down to take a nap.
Why is it I can never get anything done?
