I am looking for a free software for working on UML focusing more on creating components and State Machines.
Any suggestion from personal experience ?
cheers,

My suggestion from personal experience is not to use UML.

pen and paper and a scanner/camera to archive the results.
I'd rather be phishing!

I rarely use UML but when I do;
Used to use StarUML[^] very good app but I believe they now charge. Although just went to site and it states "No time limit for evaluation, a license should be purchased for continued use."
In the current project I'm doing I used; Dia[^] and really like it. It does UML and a lot more, it's a diagramming tool.
New version: WinHeist Version 2.1.0

I'm currently unsupervised, I know it freaks me out too but the possibilities are endless.

I use UMLet: http://www.umlet.com/[^]. It quite easy to use - everythings just drag and drop. Unfortunatly, use case scenarios are hard to create.

When I was gaming, I'd use "Squishy Tampon of Discomfort". It actually got me banned a few times.

I think I shot you a couple of times.

Yep
Been a long time since I played that. Is it still going?

It's still available for purchase. I might reinstall it, one of these days, and see if there are any fresh, new 14-year-old buggers who are willing to make me look useless.

As far as I am concerned: I don't see why you would willingly get yourself in a situation where you know somebody is going to hit you in the head. This ranks right up there with people who put dried leaves in their mouths and then set fire to it, (aka "smoking").

It's a lot like golf.
People play golf, and I have no idea why.

People jump out of perfectly safe airplanes that don't need jumping out of (AKA parachute jumping)
People jump off perfectly stable cliffs or bridges with rubber bands tied to their feet (AKA bungee jumping)
People climb perfectly inoffensive mountains that are just standing there minding their own business
...
Can we take it as read that manymost people are not rational?
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

I was just looking at beautiful resumes[^] and I found one that said the following:

I know what she means, but perhaps that was not the best choice of words...
It is unknown to me if she got a job.
