Tom Clancy's HAWX 1 & 2 aren't terrible for modern games. Fun, but not terribly realistic.

Have a look at Falcon BMS. It's a heavily updated version of Flacon 4.0. You need the original Falcon 4.0 .EXE to run it though.
The only other one that's left that's worth anything is the DCS series. I'm flying the A-10C and it's nothing short of awsome!

You have DCS? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger (no pun intended) on that, but didn't want to until I knew if it plays decent on current hardware? I always remember back in the day that sims always pushed performance limits. I have a decent gaming rig, but the graphics and avionics of DCS look so over the top that I figured I'd be getting like 3 FPS out of it.

My rig is 3 years old, with a couple of old Radeon 4870HDs in CrossFire and it plays just fine.

Got a link to Falcon BMS?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

Dave, I tried the download page. I registered but when I log in and go there I get a message
"you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1.Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2.If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

I'm a real pilot if that counts. Private Pilot and complex endorsement working on my high performance. As soon as summer gets here I'm going to take a beginner aerobatics course and I'll also start my IFR training.
I've played the Hawx games and they were descent, I think I also played the Falcon games.
If you want to add a real-world spin, you can always try Air Combat USA[^]. As soon as they get local enough, I'm going to sign up.

Back in 1997, I had a Macintosh PowerPC and one game: F/A 18 Hornet.
I had SO much fun with that game, although the graphics really sucked, the realism and aircraft handling was spot on!
Missions, scenarios and training were well balanced and well developed. It even had aircraft carriers on which you could takeoff and land.
For anyone interested, I found a page talking about it: http://www.old-games.com/download/4238/f-a-18-hornet-3[^]

I use Combat Flight Simulator 3 from *gasp* Microsoft and it works pretty well on my Win7 machine even though it says it doesn't. The weird thing is that my MS Force Feedback pro 2 joystick no longer feeds back force - it still does on an old XP system - it's the Win7 drivers that don't support it anymore!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Funny. It works fine on my Win7 x64 machine.

Obviously I need to get it out, dust it off and update my drivers!

Well today is the last full Friday of the year for me as next week is a half, then I have the 27th off.
For the week of the 23rd I only have to work on the 26th, and then I have two days off the week of the 30th.
This post is mainly because I do not have very much on my plate today and am waiting to go to lunch.

Yay
It's my last full Friday as well as next Friday is a half day here too – it's Christmas lunch and the afternoon is free after that. And my company never works Christmas-New Year.
One week to go, just one week ...

Worked at a auto part manufacturer that shut down between Christmas and New Years but did maintenance so IT may or may not have to go in.

I voted this article a 2 originally as i did not think the implementation was well done: RS Focus Component[^]. I also provided detailed reasons for this.
After further investigation I noticed that the project relied on a closed source dll, which is against the CodeProject Contributors Agreement[^] to post closed-source libraries:
Note: As a consequence of the frequent virus infections across the internet, CodeProject will no longer accept binary submissions that do not contain full source code, unless the submission is from a recognised company or institution. Shareware or time-limited submissions will not be accepted.
Also after downgrading my vote to one and explaining this, Rameez Raja then proceeded to down vote other articles of mine with comments such as "..."
