I'm guessing you won't allow any kinds of abbreviated italian cuisine?

TOLLGATES
TO(NNE)
LLG(TOO LARGE)
ATE
S(Next generation)
Otherwise not enough lexicometry to go on. Final offer.

Well, there's a 9 letter word in the clue, but can't make that fit the rest of the clue!

I'm beginning to regret reminding him - I've got nothing useful.

I was on this path:
Weight? To regain == definition
I ate = I ATE
dementedly = (anagram)
once the bar opened = ??
Right or Wrong, I couldn't figure a 9 letter word this direction. I left.

I don't remember the last time I saw one of these here. When it's hiding in plain sight, there has to be a little misdirection.
Weight? To regain it, I ate dementedly once the bar

I think @Rich-Leyshon had it but just didn't see the definition, so I'm inclined to give it to him, especially as I don't recall him setting one. Want to take it tomorrow, Rich?

I still don't get it... what about rest of the words/characters.
I understand it's combination of few letters as-is but how does one reach to it?

The rest of it (by my understanding) doesn't matter when the word appears as consecutive letters within the clue, so long as the definition is still at either end.

Okay - if that's the way CCC can be setup. This is new for me. Thanks!

In looking into it further, I learned that there should nonetheless have been an indicator that hinted at the word being embedded within the clue, which was therefore unfair.

Yes, that's what I had but didn't understand why!
I am losing track of days but isn't tomorrow Saturday?
Alas, Monday morning I have a hospital appointment so won't be able to (that and the fact that the prospect of doing my first one terrifies the hell out of me!)

Right, tomorrow's Saturday! I watched my first one, so ask if you can!

My bad, apparently. I thought you were referring to a colonoscopy.

Ah right, no. I have watched one though in the past!
This is the marginally prettier end - Maxillofacial.

Doesn't sound like any fun at all. Hope all goes well!

If something has a solution... Why do we have to worry about?. If it has no solution... For what reason do we have to worry about?
Help me to understand what I'm saying, and I'll explain it better to you
Rating helpful answers is nice, but saying thanks can be even nicer.
