Politician auditioned horse (5)
modified 3-Dec-20 8:11am.

TRUMP? But I think maybe the "'s ass" is missing at the end.
I had a similar thought.
If "auditioned" was somehow an anagram indicator then:
horse => hoser ( a foolish or uncouth person aka a Politician)
// TODO: Insert something here
True, but it's not an anagram indicator.
Nope. Any politician with a 5-letter name would work there!
If that "S" was a "W", I'd think it was an anagram ...
As it is, I got nothin'.

My my, so much naughtiness today!

Hmmmm,
I interpret this as a homophone clue with auditioned as the indicator.
Politician has 4 syllables so obviously cannot be the target. So that leaves the instructions as:
Word that sounds like horse that means politician.
Step 1: Search for synonyms of horse:
colt
filly
mare
stallion
bronco
foal
gelding
mustang
nag
steed
pony
Step 2:
Do any of these sound like a 5 letter politician?
Answer Yes.
mare sounds like: Mayor

Evidently this gadget has been around for a few years, but I must have been too L7 to discover it.
Is it really up to all the hype?

Well after a nice vindaloo I often have a ring that smarts.

Got any recipes? I made cajun fettuccini alfredo last night, but I'm always interested in trying new things...

Sadly no. I just throw some meat and veg in a pan, along with stock and liberal amounts of curry powder. But for real quality (British*) Indian food I would always go to one of the local restaurants.
Most Indian food here has been modified for the British taste. When I was in India a few years ago I never saw any food that remotely resembled what we get here.

I've had something called vindaloo here, but it was boring. The same was true of curry, even when purchased at an Indian restaurant. That was until we got a Thai restaurant in town. Now that's some great curry!!! I wonder if they can do vindaloo?

Probably not as vindaloo is specifically Indian. But I am sure any Thai restaurant can create an extra hot dish.
