That's hardly playing the game is it ?

Asking everybody else for starter words might also be called hardly playing the game.

I used to use TRACE but now use RAISE and alternative if no hits is CLOUT.
Also play Duotrigordle[^] which is Wordle x 32 at once or in sequence (they have variations).

AEROS and TINEA

I made a LowResNX version of the game using the actual words from Wordle, plus it verifies to make sure you’re using an actual word when you guess. It’s pretty fun…

I also recommend Worgle, which has 6 letters, but is no more difficult.

I vary most days, but often use train , steak , stair , adieu and some of the other commonly listed ones. However I will sometimes just use whatever comes into my head (unless it uses fewer than 5 different letters) and that method has resulted in at least 3 1st-guess wins. Sadly they don't show in my history; I never used to bother with logging in, and every time Windows decided to upgrade itself (even though I've used every known method to stop it doing so) it would wipe my cookies and therefore my Wordle stats (as well as forcing me to log back into virtually every site). Now I have a free account at NYTimes so I just log back in and the stats are retained.

Mine are based on the English letter frequencies - ETAION SHRDLU - which are also the first 2 columns on the keyboard of a Linotype typesetting machine [^]. My dad used to be a printer!
So on Wordle, I use ATONE, then, if nothing came up, I'd likely use SHIRK; if there was an E, I might use SHIRE or, for an A, SHARD and so on. A few days ago, I got nothing from ATONE and just the K from SHIRK, so was looking for a word with D, L and/or U and got it on the 3rd row with...?
I also play Quordle where my first 3 rows are almost always SLATE, POUND and BRICK, which uses up over half the alphabet.

Stair and next is Force, covers 9 out of the 10 most common letters.

CRANE, TIPSY, then one of MOULD, DOUGH or BOUGH depending on mood.

"and more"...after naming 3 of the 4 books.
This is like Gilligan's Island's "...and the rest" rather than "the Professor and Mary-Ann".

But they did fix that in later seasons.
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

Whoa, wait a minute...um I remember seeing those in re-runs see, I'm sure that's what it was.

Gilligan's Island predates me by a few years, but not that many. I did catch it in reruns.
I'm not sure why it's always used as an example of a bad sitcom nowadays. They've produced a lot worse since.

Anyone get the movie reference?
