Having only ever experienced something that barely shook the hanging lights I would probably freak out at anything over about 3 on the R scale.
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

Those are fun, I was calmly working in Venezuela on the 12th floor, when my seat started moving across the aisle to another cubical. Everyone startweed running for the stairwell and I just sat there waing for the hysteria to stop. Then someon came and told me that we were all supposed to walk down the stairs in case there was structural damage. I said"If there might be structural damage, the last place I want to be is in a stairwell with 3000 people! I waited a whilke, then walked down alone and went to lunch.

So how many people now realize that Christopher Columbus was Jewish. Also, that there is no picture of Christopher Columbus from his time ([^]. One of the many lies in your history books. Even Wikipedia cannot get it right. He apparently could not even speak Italian.

He wanted to save on spices so much, he discovered America!

Pretty sure he was the last in a long line of peoples that discovered the Americas... The Vikings and the Chinese amongst many and, of course, the native Indians who crossed the Bering Straits many thousands of years ago.

I read a very interesting book on the battle of Medway[^] that was written by an English historian.
The most interesting part was when he listed all the things that had to be done badly by the English for the raid to succeed. Apparently the dutch had good spies.

It took some time, but the life and times of admiral Michiel de Ruyter are now on film in the epic movie "Michiel de Ruyter", I also found Charles Dance in the role of Charles II very enjoyable. [IMDB]
