There is a woman who hangs around the play-ground offering cheap batteries.
She sells 'C' cells by the seesaw.

It is an English "tongue twister", i.e. a phrase that gets difficult to say multiple times, especially at speed. Ofte used as a children's game. The original phrase is "She sells sea-shells by the sea shore".

Good point ... I know about "she sells..." from my English lessons some time ago, and now I also know the meaning of "seesaw". And... both tongue-twisters can even be combined in one sentence ...

No, Bob.
Just sign the divorce papers and you can both move on with your lives.

Well,
Bob the builder and friends specialize in fixing things, including conflict and retributions. But when they say "No" it means that they have encountered a situation that they cannot seem to fix.
The spiel about divorce papers is a suggestion for both parties to go their separate ways.

Yep,
I ordered Starlink middle of this year and was suppose to get my kit in November. But now my account page has been updated and changed to "Starlink expects to expand service in your area by mid 2022." I've been waiting for nearly 6 months. I am not sure if it's related to the chip shortage but they suddenly added 6-8 months to my wait time.
See here[^]
I posted some questions about it over on /r/Starlink but mostly got vague and sometimes rude responses.
Is there anyone else here on codeproject getting Starlink? If so what has your experience been like?
Thanks,
-David Delaune

I have Starlink set up here in Dublin,Ireland - the kit arrived about 2 months ago and I think that was 6 months after my order.
Speed is good and the kit is rugged (we just had a big storm here but it was not affected) but it is quite heavy and does need a good "view of the sky".

Do you know if this would have any effect on my order delivery date? I was told that I would need to survey the sky around my property so I installed the Starlink app on my phone. There are no locations anywhere on my property that have a 100 degree unobstructed field of view. I walked all around but I have too many oak trees.
Someone told me that they were giving priority to orders with a confirmed installation coordinate.

It seems unlikely - I had not downloaded the app before mine was delivered.

I ordered it in March and received it in May. I really, really, like it. We have been living in rural areas for quite some time and had to use other satellite-based-ISPs and all of them were awful. Starlink is considerably different and quite good. Latency is now under 100ms where before it was at least 2 seconds. It is really nice getting 10MBPS downloads too and that is mega BYTES per second. Now I don't mind downloading the latest 2.5GB update for CUDA and 700MB video drivers. I hope it works out for you.

Thanks,
Why is your latency so high? I thought the median was around 50ms.

It is usually in the mid 30s but 100 is the maximum I have seen.

Earlier I was talking about getting a mechanical keyboard.
Must be full size. Must be backlit. Must be weighted. Must use replaceable keycaps (pref standard ones). Must have software for the backlighting or other features that doesn't absolutely lose. Must use something like Cherry MX Browns in terms of noise and behavior.
There are no stores within an hour of me where I can try mechanical keyboards with standard switches.
I've heard some negative things about the Das 5QS keyboard but nothing that overshadows the positive.
I'm willing to spend the money for it, and I can return it if it is awful.
Here's to hoping, because if this works out, it is the absolute pinnacle of keyboards.
This one is designed more for typers, not gamers.

Plus it's got a cool thing where you can sync the lights in your keyboard's individual keys with things like new mail messages, CPU usage, etc.

Mine is a corsair. Mechanical. Gift from a friend, since bloody expensive. And I dropped coffee on it twice. It don't care, there's a video on someone pouring an idiot amount of water over it and it just keeps working?
It has this ridges near j and f so you know where your hand is. Not just for gaming, it just a better keyboard.
The only thing better would be a force-feedback keyboard.

The corsair was one I considered, but i don't like their switches because they use a different size keys than everyone else IIRC. If it wasn't that, there was some other thing I didn't like. Not sure now.

I took all the keys off at one time, to clean the keyboard and the keys. Dunno if it is different from others.
Point is that it is spill resistant; and built to be taken apart easy. That makes it easy to clean. Before this one, I used the cheapest cherry I could get, since they don't last. Three, four each year. I smoke, so outside the occasional coffee, there's regular ashes dropping. This keyboard just doesn't break down.
While it may not be your brand or something else wrong, you may want to look for similar features. And as a gamer, yes, it helps to feel when you press a button. So, if you cleaner than me and unlikely to damage your keyboard, then yes; ask around and go for something good. It's the thing you'll be touching most coming years
