Bill based on some of your posts here I imagine your browsing history gives the AI conniptions. I have this image of an AI sitting in the background going "oh bugger Bill is on line again, what the hell am i supposed to serve up now"

Come to think of it, most of my intellectual interests don't connect to products that would be advertised in the browser. I hadn't thought of that as a blessing ... until now
So, thanks !

Easy one to end the week
Where you might find a dish for free (2,3,5)

Perhaps the letters were in an array with the 1st element being zero?
I won't give my possible answer as at the moment, committing to Monday (3 whole days away) seems optimistic - some disaster will have arisen by then!!!

Well, I was wrong then. I thought it was "On the shelf" given that a dish would be found on a shelf and it is an expresssion for being free of a relationship.

@Super-Lloyd
So ... you are there just a week, and this happens: EA: Gaming giant hacked and source code stolen[^]
A bit of a coincidence, isn't it?

"source code stolen"

They were probably planning on selling it in a load of microtransactions ...

the game engine Frostbite is the most valuable code they stole.
I wonder how they will actually make money off of that? Which software shop, developer(s), etc. will actually pay good money for a stolen game engine, and not get caught eventually?
I wonder if it compares to thieves stealing a famous work of art and trying to sell it, without getting pinched.

|
|
|

True - so the reason may be non-profit then: competition trying to delay release? Ransom? Disgruntled ex employee? Punter who really didn't like having to pay loads more to get the game he thought he'd originally paid for?

having access to the game source code will make it much easier for people writing cheats.

so someone will pay, say $2,000 so they can write cheats?
Perhaps they will post it on the dark web for free access?
I just don't see how the hackers are not going to get caught here, or the people using stolen source code for a game engine such as Frostbite. I don't think these people have thought things out very well here.

Not for one person, but lots of people will pay $1-50 (not sure how much the cheats normally go for) which is enough to run a scummy business off of. Cheating in multiplayer games is a serious problem because there are so many sad sack basement dwelling losers who want to be on the top of the leaderboards without actually putting in the effort to get good. If there are resources to be earned farming content there'll be a market for bots to do it; both for people farming their own and if trade is enabled buying the items with cash.
