No one's come out and said it, but with the M1 chip, 2Tb storage, 16Gb RAM, thunderbolt over USB-C: it's a touch-enabled Macbook. My girlfriend is "touch-enabled". My PC isn't. It does a command line, which she doesn't.
How much better is your programming with that "touch-enabled"?

If you inform to the police about dumb criminals, are you likely to need a witless relocation program?

So witty I nearly felon the floor! Barring any objections I only need worry when this sentence ends.

I have about 500 lines of C++ code devoted to representing and manipulating them. It's rectangles everywhere.
I blt a bitmap - source rectangle for copy window, destination rectangle for destination blt position and size, plus flipped if the rect is flipped, clipping rectangle for clipping the output to a window, and an offset rectangle for correcting for partially "offscreen" blts.
It's rectangles all the way down. Overlapping, containing, rotating, intersecting, confusing rectangles.
I'm going to need a lot more coffee.
Ode to two humble points
That leave my mind all disjoint

Where do I even begin?

You should be using Turtle (logo programing language)[^] ...

Some years ago I read that there was a patent on saving the portion of a display that was being overwritten, so that it could be restored without regenerating it. Some folks just need a good caning.

I'm fine with copyrighting software but I think software patents were a mistake.

At least you are not dealing with circles. They are pointless.

I have no idea, but I suppose a case could be made for any of the three good numbers: 0, 1, or ∞.

So ... seventeen years in the dark, and then they come out for sex?
They are developers, aren't they?

Only the addicted to coding kind, I would imagine.

Well, we've had plague, and now locusts. What next?

I'm pretty sure that plague and locust are far worse than cicadas.

Plague (aka Black Death) was much worse than COVID-19. That doesn't mean that I can't compare Plague to COVID-19, and Locusts to Cicadas.
