Someone needs to print, frame, and send this to those drones in question. Well said.

What about sales, management, recruitment, finances...?
I've worked for a company with 200+ developers and probably 30 or 40 other people.
Those other people were simply there to keep the company up and running because you need an accountant, because the techies needed company cars, because they had to get customers, etc.
It's those 40 people who send out those kinds of emails.
Still, definitely dev focused, I'd say.

I don't like shops where there is more than one person for any of those roles.
200 people is way too many for a dev shop for me to be comfortable.

Where I work, we have one developer, one salesman, one bookkeeper, one manager... And they're all me
I'm thinking of getting a second developer, but I'd have to check with HR (a.k.a. also me).
Rest assured I'll send this new developer weekly updates on employee happiness, yoga classes and the charity I'll donate his salary to

Perhaps because your "good old days" are not the only representation (or memory) of what those were?
Before awareness and even sexual harassment laws existed I remember the following.
1. One co-worker that continuously shared extreme racist and misogynistic jokes. It wasn't possible to have a conversation with him without this happening.
2. At another job one male owner of the company was so egregious that he was sued by women four times and lost in court at least two of those. Again keeping in mind that he lost before sexual harassment laws existed.
3. At another job the owner insisted that the managers only hire women with big breasts. Presumably so he could look at them while he was discussing football (which he also did.)

60 years ago, we was not woke. And the more our currency slides, the more woke we became.
The woke west needs fresh blood; immigrants, refugees, anything - or the currency collapses. We need an expanding population, and the average western doesn't produce enough. Without an expanding population, the state cannot borrow money at the same rate. So, to be blunt; we importing people because we don't make enough of them, to keep the borrowing going. Is that "woke" enough?
"Equal rights", yes; but not mandatory minimal hires of a color or gender; that's devaluing for the sake of virtue. A virtue that is as valueable as being a virgin. Makes nice headlines, nothing more.

Coworkers aren't. They competition according to management.
Once, we worked as a team toward a common goal, for a common interest. Now we work for a manager that declares all employees to be competing.
Those mails are PR. There's no value in them in productive terms, only in how the company is perceived.

I just ordered most parts for my new machine...
Case: beQuiet Pure Base 500
Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH (M-ATX)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
CPU cooler: beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 (double fan)
RAM: Kit 2x16 Gb Patriot Viper Steeel CL18
Main SSD: 2 TB Crucial P5 NVMe M.2 PCIe gen 3.0
PSU: 750 W beQuiet 80+ Gold
Monitor: 34' IIYAMA G-MASTER GB3461WQSU-B1 RED EAGLE UWQHD
GPU would ideally be the AMD Radeon 6800XT but they are pretty difficult to get right now. Only possibility is to pay 150% or more (I have already seen them at 225%) its recommended price. AMD official shop is always out of stock and every time they do a drop, it is gone in less than a minute. Damned crypto miners and their bot nets...
I will be using my current GPU for a while until I get the 6800XT, 6800 or 6700XT
Keyboard is something I will renew as well... but I want to be able to feel the differences before buying one, since I want to go on mechanical with good switches for the first time. But I want to avoid loudness if possible (any recommendations?)
All in all... I am happy and pretty excited, I expect the hardware to come middle of next week...
I just now have to find a legal (and ideally cheap) Win 10 Pro licence since I don't want to use the HomeEdition assigned to my old PC.

What about RGB ? You know you need RGB, it makes your computer go faster.
As for keyboard, I found that mechanical keyboard are not that loud.
I have a CODE keyboard, don't remember which color are my keys switches; it works well.
I have 2 issues with the keyboard, first, the usb plug is flimsy and the keys I leave my finger on by default ( a, e, s, left/right shift and left ctrl keys) are really worn out.
I'd rather be phishing!

The only think I can consider is in the keyboard, but not as a RGB party, just iluminated keys because I usuall have only a difuse lamp behind / sideways... to help with the shadows.

I have found a not so expensive Cherry Max 3 keyboard where everyone says it is mechanical but with the feeling of rubber... low profile keys and switches with some gummy to attenuate the noise and help agains dirt...
But keyboard is something I like more to check physically before buying... so I suppose I will wait until I can go to the tech shop and have some tests on my own.

Liturgy - High Gold[^]
Another black metal one, second week in a row!
Great news for @jorgen_andersson who thoroughly enjoys these
I kind of found this one by mistake.
Favorited it once, never listened to again, until last week.
The intro is a bit weird and may suggest it turns into something electronic, but you couldn't be further from the truth.
It's somewhat eclectic and by no means easy listening, not even to a black metal audience
Apparently, the band made an appearance on The Blacklist, the television series, but I've never seen that one.
Fun fact that you probably wouldn't have guessed: the band leader and vocalist is a woman

Intro? That was half the song!

I have to be honest, it just sounded like a mess. It was like all the instruments were recorded separately (and off the cuff) then edited together later. Like some sort of music experiment.
But hey, it's just an opinion.

When I first heard black metal, 18 years ago, I thought the mp3 file was corrupt
After that I eased into metal with some more melodic stuff like Nightwish and Dimmu Borgir.
The "corrupt mp3 file" later became one of my favorite black metal albums.
musefan wrote: Like some sort of music experiment To be fair, it's tagged as "experimental"
