I eat 'generous' servings of everything that I want, and I do that pretty much on a regular basis.
However, I make sure that I get enough exercise to burn all that junk out. I absolutely love pushing myself to the limits with running, cycling, etc. I used to be a power-lifter, but I dropped that for aerobic exercises.
This idea of out-exercising calorie rich food has worked fine for me, and my weight has hovered around the 83 KG mark for over 12 years now with a of maximum variance of +/- 2 kilos very occasionally. Yesterday, I had about 200 grams of Jalebis, 4 vada pavs, generous servings of faafda, chunks of mysore pak, and other food that's normally considered junk. Towards the night, I dropped the idea of eating a jug of kulfi ice cream because I thought my stomach was filled to the brim. But I did have a glass of sugarcane juice. Please note that I also get enough quantities of protein, fibre, etc. from various sources.
But then I played 6 intense rounds of badminton when the day started yesterday, and last evening I ran 12 rounds in a jogger's park that's reasonably big. I will confidently tell you that I burnt out more than what I ate.

Although BMI calculators will classify me as slightly overweight, I know it for a fact that the weight is coming from my muscles that I'm no more building, but just maintaining. A complete body assessment revealed that my muscles are in better shape than the chief trainer of my gym. I can prepare myself to bench press a hatchback in 10 days if needed (that's exaggeration, but you get the point).

I have hovering around 75-77. But all of a sudden it has shot up to 82Kg now. It's an all time high. And that's when I decided not to touch fatty food & sweets. But like our mates said above, I'm really not in diet but on seefood. I eat wildly when something is open in front of the eyes. In particular after a week long strict diet. Gary Wheeler & Carlo have been real inspirations to for they do long runs consistently.
I was running for a week, but the work at late evening for the next few weeks put this routine off the line.
I started feeling like a real potato and to add to the injury, I eat up a lot of sweets today. Planning to start my running again. One thing is sure I can't stop eating sweets

I sympathise with you, because I can completely understand what you say.
I will shamelessly admit it here that I cannot diet either. I've tried it time and time again, and have realised that it's just not for me. I can resist sweets, and can go without eating anything sweet, but I must eat fried food. I think it's a different craving for each person, but the idea is the same - resistance is futile.
However, I can confidently tell you that you will be able to develop a healthy and regular exercising habit if you're determined enough.
Exercising is not as hard as dieting, and is in fact far more enjoyable than dieting. It's promising, and it never will fail you. I wish you good luck with your endeavours.

I'm not a lover of sweets either. But there are specific sweets I'm not able to resist. Those cashew milk sweets & the ones that's with a lot of ghee & mild sugar. All these are home made. I have never stepped into a sweet shop to buy something out of my craving. It's 100% seefood. These specific items, when they are open in front of me, they are inside my stomach the very next moment.
Like you said, It's not about diet but I must pull in the routine back. I planned to run in the morning , but the option of running in the evening makes me cancel it everyday. And in the evening, I actually don't get a chance to get away from my work . This's been evading me for so many weeks. I'm making up my mind to get up early and RUN!
