There's a reason why the words "onboarding" and "waterboarding" are so similar.

In companies I've worked in, there is a buddy assigned to support in all these issues. In fact I've also been a buddy to a new joinee, and have helped him in all such things.

Funny, My week started by shipping a laptop to a new hire. (non-programmer role) She is an admin working from home and can install whatever she wants on it. I like to keep things simple for myself.
The unwanted challenge now facing me is training and keeping the new hire busy while getting my own work done! I didn't agree with this hire...it was a done deal before I was 'asked'.

I once ran across the same catch 22 BS, go park on the head of HRs desk and tell him you are being paid x$ per hour to do nothing.
I can relate to the unconnected Surface, they gave me an unconnected 386 (in the days of the pentium). At which point I returned to HR and repeated the exercise, took 2 weeks to get set up (the contract was for 1 month)

Whats next limiting their food imports to only steak, champagne and chocolate? I was under the assumption other nations were trying to deter the invasion not encourage it.

You mean sanctions? They're nice symbology, but doesn't prevent trade.
The biggest weapon here is not sanctions, but media.

Russia's behavior is so 20th century. I had hoped we'd left this sort of thing behind.

I recently found myself a case that's glass on 4 of the 6 sides.
The pros are fairly obvious - I can immediately tell if any of my fans are going bad. I can tell if there is dust buildup in the machine. It's pretty, of course. It's easy to clean.
The cons? Some obvious, some less so. First of all, it's heavy. Ugh. The case is half the height of a tower and about 1.5 times as wide, so it's a little-ish (micro-ATX horizontally mounted in the chassis) cube.
You'd think I was storing bowling balls in it, with how heavy it is.
Then the less obvious one - I don't set things like mugs, or really anything that could easily break glass on top of my machines, so that's not an issue.
But even putting my phone or gamepad down on it makes me feel like I need a doily.
Like, I get a little tinge of guilt every time I do it. My mother is screaming at me in my ear. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? THAT'S GLASS"
So now there's that to contend with. I didn't think about that when I bought the thing.
It might be worth considering the fallout (for those of you with mothers like that) if you decide to go that route as well.

Asking because I don't know, considering glass is a good insulator doesn't that mean the interior stays warmer than it should?
I’ve given up trying to be calm. However, I am open to feeling slightly less agitated.

I think that's why it's gapped. It's actually technically one of those "open air" chassis that's all the rage now, even though it doesn't look like it until you get close. There's a 1-1.5cm gap between the glass and frame on each of the 4 sides where there is glass.
There were a few negative reviewers among the overwhelming 4 and 5 stars that said they had heat issues, but I run a 1000 watt PSU and a 2080TI with an AMD Ryzen 7 4750G and 7TB of storage w/ no worries.
Also I think a lot of people are now moving to liquid cooled with the introduction of AIO cooling setups so heat dissipation becomes much more manageable. These cases are designed with liquid cooling in mind, although they are also designed so you can run air, like I do.

I'm surprised they make those. Are there not plastic equivalents? I suppose plastic is more easily scratched, and glass is a lot stronger. Given I keep my tower PCs on the floor, clearly I'm not in the target demographic.
