Any one can help me about Html Help Workshop?

Hi,
I have a problem working with Microsoft Html help Workshop,
I paste pictures from Rational in my Word documents.
After I convert the Word document to html and use it in Html Help Workshop, the pictures are not shown.
Would anyone help me please?

hi there,

because I dont have rational software to reproduce ur problem. So I just suggest a stupid solution below:
- use a tool to capture the picture (or using Print Screen) and then save it as an image file
- put it into html file

Hi,
Thanks for your care,
I know that the solution you suggested works but because I have a lot of documents and I can't change all of them, I need to find a better solution.
I know that Html help workshop also does not show some Jpeg pictures.

My popup show nothing when i put some of javascript in the page(.ASP format). i used the javascript because want to call the information from the database. however, it works very well if no javascript in the coding. i need the javascript in the popup to display the information from the database. i hope anyone can help me to solve this problem.

"USB. camera"(Pc camera) as the source but I don't see this option.

I have a javascript date picker on a asp.net web form. What I want is that when the Web form is loaded that if the Ststus field contains the text "Closed" then the datepicker will disappear.

Has anyone any resources or ideas on how to achieve this?

is it possible to define hotkeys for href-links in the html,
so the user may select them by simply pressing this keys ?

Hi there,
IMO, you can implement this functionality with the client side script. You basically need to do the things:

+ Capture when a key is pressed, you can create am event handler for the onkeydown[^]/onkeypress[^] events of the body element.

+ Based on the keyCode of the pressed key, you can get the appropriate link and take a proper action.

The sample code is something like:

function CaptureHotKey(e)

	if (e.keyCode == 65)//The keyCode of 'A' is 65.				
	{
	        //Get the expected link for the keyCode 65.
		var href = document.getElementById("link1");
                               
		//Take the proper action: set focus on it or navigate to its url.

hi there,

u can define a hotkey for href element. So user just simply press Alt+ character that u defined, then the link will get focus.
below is the sample code:
press Alt-C

Using ASP to get an image from MS Access

I'm trying to get an image from an Access database (which is stored as an OLE Object type) to appear, on the fly, when the page is built using ASP.

My ASP page looks like this:

But what I get back is an empty image placeholder - no picture. Has any one any ideas about what is happening? All the necessary include files are included and when I try this function in isolation I don't get any errors.

Hi is it possible to disable all the scripts inside a frame at runtime
i mean by using some form of javascript.
i have page1 which will disable all the tags when it load another page inside the IFrame.
One way is to put it the comments block around the block u want to disable

but i don't want this, i want do disable and then enable scripts in a Iframe at runtime

hi there,

First, I'm sorry if I misunderstood ur mean. because javascript code can be dynamically generated at runtime, so u can do whatever u want in this case.
I mean u can enable/disable js by coding.
Thats what I think

No, you can't disable scripts using script.

And even if you could, it would not be possible to enable scripts once the page is loaded, as some scripts only work while the page is loading.

I am not JS guru but what about global variable? Something like ( <script>... if(JSDisabled)return; ... </script> If there is not such a thing as global variable then hidden field/getElementById allways work Smile | :)

Do you really need that IFrame? Communication between frames sucks... See http://www.codeproject.com/script/comments/forums.asp?forumid=1640&mpp=50&select=1211607&df=100#xx1211607xx[^] for possible way (but not comlete solution, due to IFrame) how to solve your problem (I hope).

Hi, I have the following problem. I have a listbox on my page which displays the list of Company names in the Customers table of Northwind. I have created this listbox and use Javascript to fill it. My problem is that some of the company names contain " ' " which of course causes a problem, as the script thinks its the end of the text. Is there any character I can insert which Javascript would interpret as being ' and not the end of the string?

You can escape ' characters with \'. The other option is to enclose your string with " instead of ' since javascript accepts both styles.
'can't' <- invalid
"can't" <- valid
'can\'t' <- valid

Hi Andy, thanks for your quick reply. I would have used ", only I am generating the javascript through code, which is why I was stuck using ' - I suppose I should have mentioned that. But thanks for your help, it works well.
