uhhm. I'm confused. Why do we have a Java forum and no link to it from the Forums home page?
CP is a great platform I bet Java, PHP... developers would love to contribute more around here.

because it is a legacy forum. I'm surprised it is still even around. It hardly ever got used, so it was removed to allow space for more popular discussion topics.

There are plenty of Java/PHP developers out there. Java... forum "hardly ever got used" because we are too focused on MS-oriented techs to attract those devs. Anyway, that is CP's decision.

Now there more and more informtion and examples are poping up about AJAX I think it would be a good idea to create a place where we can post questions, examples...ect

I have just found the following typo in the article submission guidelines:
"The idea is to give the reader a clear of idea of the purpose of your code..."
There's one "of" too much.

Guys, I think that you should update the current article submission process. I understand that you have it the way it is to ensure quality control, but surely you could have this all happen online in the wizard without having to zip up and email changes to previously published articles. Frankly, it's a pain in the butt and when I get the momentary urge to make an update, then I think to myself about having to do the whole zipping up and emailing thing and I think... ahh can't be bothered right now.
Let's look at the facts. People these days are motivated by convenience. If you make this a convenient and super-quick process, you'll find people making updates much more often. You don't have to publish the changes straight away, just make it quick to log in, find your article, make some changes and submit the changes for approval. Upon approval, the article would be re-published. The current process is inconvenient. Sure, you can come back with "well don't be lazy" or something to that effect, but let's be realistic. If you improve the whole article submission/approval process for published articles, you're going to get a lot more people bothering to actually keep their articles up to date.
Easier process = more authors making updates. As a result, The Code Project's average quality of articles will increase. Help us busy people make spur-of-the-moment updates when it's on our mind and we have 5 minutes to blow without forcing us to stuff around just to make a minor update.

I found an article in my e-mail newsletter that I'd overlooked previously:
"Protecting application's unauthorized copy - Manish K. Agarwal

It was posted in WIN32/SDK on 28 Nov 2005.
When I tried following the link included in the newsletter,

Furthermore, the search for articles by Manish K. Agarwal on Code Project returns zero results.

I think you'll find the article here[^]. The article was probably moved after the email was produced. But I'm just guessing.
Incidentally, I found the article searching for the term 'unauthorized'. It was the first one on the list.

Code Project is a great resource and I save a lot of articles published in it.
The reader comments at the bottom can be very useful as well. I save the "Print" version of the page -- could reader comments be attached at the bottom of the page, and expanded, so that all posts and replies are visible at the same time?

I second this suggestion - it would be handy, at least as an option.
BTW, John - if you use FireFox, i have a work-around linked to in my signature (print forum). Requires printing the article twice (once for the article, again for the comments), but it's better than nothing.

other suggestion...:
any new post messages on the same board you are showing....a notification appears tells you there is # of new posted message on this board....
so you can sleep while you are reading the long post message and in the same time you get acknowledge of the new messages....!!!!

I'm signed in to CodeProject all the time. However, I was doing a search on Google and the two results that were returned were identical, except one pointed to CodeProject.com while the other to TheCodeProject.com. It would seem that being logged in to the former does not automatically log you in to the latter. Can this be changed by modifying your cookies or do we actually have to remain logged in to both for it to be transparent?
