Hi
Has anyone worked with DVT cameras? I want read and write camera registers. With activeX I can control the camera fine but working with camera registers(string,byte,int,...) acticeX is not capable (I think so). I use VB.Net 2003 standard version.

I am using a function to keep an error log in case of run-time errors. When the program breaks, ex.stacktrack and ex.innerexception, containing useful technical information are not written to the log file.
Any ideas?

Do you send any inner exception string to the method?
You have no code that writes the stack trace to the file.

Hi to everyone,
I've written a small application which reside in the tray area, with a context menu and no form.
I'm trying to display a user drawn menu, the same way I already did so many times in standard Windows application, by using the DrawMenu & MeasureItem couple (and of course the UserDraw property set to True); but I'm getting no output, just a blank line, even the text ("View logs", for instance) disappear, though if I click on the item I get the expected behaviour (the log window appears).
By the way, another difference with the standard Windows app, is that I'm defining the menu items in the sub Main (since I have no form)
Can someone please help me.

Okay... So what part of making a chat application are you stuck with. A chat application is a big project and you are not going to get an answer to such a vague question as that in a forum. Be specific! Make an attempt yourself, and then, if you get stuck, as for help on a specific aspect of your application. We are not going to tell you how to create your application.

Socheat, try to check this article[^]. And I also suggest you know some basic concept about networking also. It would help you to build an application relate to networking. If possible, try to purchase and read this book[^].

Try to find your friend or your relationship who has a credit card.
But remeber that, this book does not teach you about vb.net step by step. It assume that you already know well with vb.net. You should have a basic knowledge with vb.net then just fill up your knowledge with networking programming.
