I need to know if an ASP.net project written with VB can send data to excel sheet and perform specific mathematical operations (but simple)and then save it in SQL database created using SQL provided by the.Net environment ?
your help is appreciated I really need to know

This will only work if Excel is running on the server, why not do your own math ?

How can I configure my website on IIS in which browsers access on my site by writing the alias.
Example:
Browsers write the site name http://Intranet and they have to redirect in virtual path example: http://myserver/Intranet/Default.aspx

You need to setup a DNS server. If you are using Windows server 2003 or 2000 you will find this. XP won't support I guess.

Hi Friends,
I am using GridView. Therein , i am making edit, addnew,delete all the three functions.
Now i am using Validators for the TextBoxes.
I am putting Validators in FooterTemplate for Addnew TextBoxes and in EditTemplate for Edit TextBoxes.
The Validators work for once. That is if i click AddNew LinkButton it will give me the Error message, but once i use Edit or Update and then try it again. It doesnt work.
I think it is losing the ClientID of the textbox?
I am not sure, but i felt so. Because earlier i was using the Ajax ValidatorCallout, which was displaying me Javascript Error message in this situation that, ControlToValidate is null.
Yes i even tried simple JavaScript
Eg: var NewName
NewName = document.getElementById("ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_GVGuide_ctl05_txtNewName");
alert(NewName);
for above line it is not able to Get the Control, NewName is always NULL
and
$get('<%=txtNewPhone.ClientID %>').innerText;
this one above code gives me error txtNewPhone doesnt exist, which is inside the GridView.
I am really lost...
All i am trying to do is get a decent grid which can work with validators.
Any Suggestion or Help would be highly appreciated.

hi,
the login page is not in our control but after successfully login from another vendors login page what are the pages to be displayed are under our control.
requirement1: when i open the pages which r under our control any body can find the url and if we copy and paste the url in a new browser then the page should not be displayed , in place it will redirect to login page again.
requirement2: when session is destroyed by the vendor who has the owner of this login page then we should display a message that session has expired in our pages.
Please if any body knows this problem help me

Store the user info in session variable.
On Page_Load event of each page check if session is not null.If it is null then redirect the user to the login page.

I am taking a average of a score and want to show it in a data grid, as a percentage value, below is a query, How do i represent this as a percentage value in a data grid.
right now i am getting it as a decimal value, ex(0.98,0.80)
select Manager_Name, avg (KC_Score) as score from dbo.KC
group by Manager_Name
Please advice....

the value is in decimal format ex-0.90,and i want to show it as 90%,
i don’t think Multiplying with 100 solves my issue.

0.90 * 100 = 90. Stick a % sign on the end and voila - you've got '90%'.

hi all
i have page load usercontrol

But when i load usercontrol so the function page_load always run 2 time. I dont understand

the second dropdownlist will load data when ddlNews_SelectedIndexChanged
and button
but have problem
when i SelectedIndexChanged the fist dropdownlist so the second after load data
after that i click button but in CodeBehind it continue run to the event ddlNews_SelectedIndexChanged
????

I have a column in a report which displays an amount of currency. The currency is stored in sqlserver databse as 'Money' data type.
My problem is when I run the report it rounds off the value and does not disply to any decimal places. I want it to display the currency as 2 decimal places as this is how it is input and stored in the database.
anyone know how to do this?

You haven't explained which reporting tool you are using. However the .NET syntax to format a number to 2dp would be something like mynum.ToString("N2").

I have enabled paging in my datgrid but when I click on page 2 I get the following Error message:
The GridView 'DateGrid' fired event PageIndexChanging which wasn't handled.
Anyone know what code I need to handle this?

In your DataGrid1_PageIndexChanged event write:
this.DataGrid1.CurrentPageIndex = e.NewPageIndex;
this.BindDataGrid( );
Note:BindDataGrid is just to bind the grid with datasource.

Yesterday I asked a question on how to retrieve a string of the raw html. Now the problem is that I have changed the data to byte[] and need to write it back to the HtmlTextWriter. The following is a code snippet if I am sending it to a Response value and not a text writer.

This snippet creates will creates a second window without and leaves the original window blank. I want to do away with the second window and have it create the modified text in the original window. So the question is how can I change the reply header information from the original encoding format and assign it to a new format (text to binary)?

Is it possible to validate whether the given SessionID is valied or not? or in other words how do we identify whether the session is still active or not? for a given session id?

Any session id is valid as along as its in session. You can use the Session start event and session end event to do stuff and use the Session.IsNewSession to check within your pages if the session is new and redirect to the default page etc...

Right click the GridView --> Properties then click the event tab, then double click the RowEditing column; This will create an event for editing.

Hi,
Hope every one is fine. I am using ASP.NET 1.1 and SQL Server 2000. Initially i was using database which was located on vss server but now i want to host it on my local machine. i got the backup of database from server in form of .mdf file. now how can i add this in my existing application and use this as data source instead of the one located on vss server.
I copied it into the root directory of web site and changed the connectin string accordingly in web.config but its not working. i am facing following error:
"CREATE DATABASE permission denied in database 'master'."
Kindly guide me how can i solve this problem. Thanks in advance..
