1 : Can i used Subreport for differnt datasource in main Crystal report and can i send parameter to them
2: can i useHide subreport i.e if i there is Condition to show subreport(a)
then all remain subreport shoul be hide mean to say shoe singal subreport in each case Can i do this Can some body tell me

Hi,
I am using dataset to bind to a datagridview. Data set have
Id,Name,Date,UserID ,UserName columns. The datagridview I have
column autogenerate property false and added ID,Name,UserName columns added
at design time.
Now question is, when I add a new row in datagridview, after entering value
for Name column, when i hit Enter Key, it shows me error that UserID can not
be null.
Could some one give me idea how to populate UserID value if its not
displayed on the datagridview.
Please guide me how to solve above problem.

Hi i'm new to programming and I am coding in Visual C++ using windows forms but don't know how to call code in form1.h from another class.
I want the user to click on a button which will then will execute my code from the other class.
The form1.h does not like you to include any of the header file I have created and I don't know they are meant to be included somewhere else. I have included them in class where the main is created.
Not sure the other way as well, so if I created a new .cpp file and need to use say a textbox in the code. What needs to be done for this to happen?

I see you post has been sitting unanswered for awhile. I would suggest you could get an answer if you asked it in the Managed C++ forum as most developers here are C# coders.
You also do not indicate if your other code is in another form or not. Typically you do not treat a form as a class. If you have code to be executed in two locations, then you create a class library and have both the form and your other code consume that class library with the shared code.
If your method needs to operate on a textbox, then just make it a parameter into the method call.

I have a dialog form which is currently showing. I would like to temporarily make it invisible. If I either call Hide(), or send a message to it to hide, then it returns a DialogResult. I'd like it to stay in the dialog loop - I'm going to make it visible again later.
Anybody have any advice?

Hi,
You may try using timer control and an integer/long type FLAG to achieve this instead of putting it in a loop. Below is the code snippet for the same. The below mentioned code consists of two forms Form1 (which is a main form) and a Dialog form (Dialog1)

Hi,
AFAIK you can't do that. Forms shown with ShowDialog() will be hidden, not closed,
when a button or the close box is hit, so they can be reused later on.
Conversely, hiding a dialog corresponds to hitting the close box, hence returns
a DialogResult.
Rationale: a dialog is top-most, what good would it be to show the underlying form
but have it disabled (as dialogs do). Or more general, what is the use of an
invisible top-most window?

I think you are right - that is the intention. Just for my application I'm trying to avoid this from happening.
You've asked why it would be of use - this, of course - stretches back to my application locking requirement which I am still working on.
With the windows forms source code released this morning I've been doing quite a bit of exploration. This is an excellent resource, and much better than reflector. I can't find exactly where the trigger that returns the DialogResult when the window when it is hidden (either with an external ShowWindow call, or with .net Hide/Show) - if I could I'd be able to see if there was any way to "work around" this behaviour.

The behavior you have noticed is the default behavior of the grid. In order to implement the desired behavior you need to sub class the
DataGridView controls and override/overload ProcessDialogKey and ProcessDataGridViewKey functions. Below is the code snippet for the same.

thank you jhon for your code .it is working.but cursor does not gone to next row first cell when the cursor is in last cell of the currentrow when we press enter key.and i am facing another problem is i was trying to check the data entered by us in datagridview to database table.means datagridview first column name "x".i want check the x values to database table values if the data is already exist in database table at that time i want to show an error msg in message box.after that the cursor must be in the error cell.but the cursor moves to next cell.if error occurs the cursor must be in the error cell only.if u have any idea send me.

I'm trying to build a USB hub driver whose behavior is like windows' built in one.
My implementation is based on the ddk's example: toaster. Mass storage devices and scanners
works fine on my driver, however usb cameras can't be started.
I analysed the irps when the camera is plugined. After the start device irp, the driver received
a remove device irp. The ddk document says if anyone in the driver stack failed in start device irp,
pnp manager will send a remove device irp. I think there must be something wrong in the implementation before the remove device irp is sent.
There is a query interface irp which query TRANSLATOR_INTERFACE before the remove device irp is sent and I return STATUS_NO_SUPPORTED.
My response to start device irp is just like the toaster example does.
My question is:
1. Do I have to implement the TRANSLATOR_INTERFACE to fix the problem?
2. Or is there something else I have to do in my start device response?

Application Wide Central Hotkey Filter based on Win 32 API Hooks
I have written a central hotkey manger prototype (see describtion below the question) for a complex MDI Application (child windows / subwindows are loaded via COM and other technologies). A simple Win 32 API hook (e.g. WH_KEYBOARD_LL) based filter (written in C# but that does not matter - could also be C/C++) replaces a lot of keyboard event forwarding code in an applications sub windows written in many different languages (as they are plug-ins etc.) and you no longer have to deal with different keyboard event management concepts in the different UI Frameworks used.
But I have two problems (the cases A and B below) as I am not a Win32 API Expert.

QUESTION
I would be grateful for any ideas about how the states/cases below can be determined !easily! via Win32 API, without having to change the code of the sub windows.
A) "covered by a modal sub window"
I have to know (without changing the code of the modal dialog) when in the context of the main window (to that hotkeys are forwarded) a modal child window / dialog is opened (and closed), because the hotkey filter shall not filter any keyboard events (event when hotkeys) in the context of modal dialogs.
B) active parent window
You can think of cases, when there are several “main windows” ("main" means: windows that receive hotkeys and can have child windows)
that receive application wide hotkeys (but each main window belongs to a different sub tree in the window hierarchy), all main windows distinguished by their win32 API handles. The handles of the main windows are known to the hotkey manager, but not the sub windows.
Main Window A --child--> SubWindow2 … --child--> SubWindowFocus
Main Window B --child--> SubWindow3
When “SubWindowFocus” has the Focus each keyboard event reaches the same Hotkey Manager via the keyboard hook, the hotkey manager only knows (handles) A and B.
Is it possible to determine the appropriate Main Window (A would be correct) via Win32 API? In that context the event was raised.

I am actually developing a “hotkey manager” that works in a complex environment (i.e. the main system and main windows are written in smalltalk or c++ and there are lots sub windows (i.e. plug-ins and add-ons) implemented in Java, .NET, VisualBasic …
Regarding the forwarding of not consumed keyboard events from the sub windows to the main windows there are many bugs and problems (some framework related or COM related) in order to get rid of all these problems I have written a central hotkey manager (filter) that attaches itself to each relevant event dispatching thread of the application.
The manager uses a Win 32 API keyboard hook (a local hook) that filters all keyboard events before the reach the sub windows, the filter than redirects hotkeys directly to the main window instead of relaying on the sub windows to forward them. Non-hotkeys go the normal way.
My code is actually quite ugly (prototype) so it makes no sense to post it (i will write a hotkey filter article when finished) - if you are interested in this topic see the codeproject article (this a global hook, i used a local one) on that my solution idea is based:

Hello all,
I am pretty much excited to get registered to this site because its totally different from other programming sites...I saw codes and demos of some windows application.It was mind blowing to see the UI and the code usage...
I am new to c#...In the sense,i have developed some simple applications like user authenticatoin,insertion,updation,deletion,search,etc...
Those things can be done in any language...I really like working with c# and want to dive in deep...So far i know about the basic controls and simple codes....I need help from u peopele like what are the basic things and how to develop application like a professional..I have some books on c# but those books just brushes the basics of all the controls..I want to develop my programming skills and good practices on how to code and design.
So suggest me some pretty good books on developing Gui application in c#..
