Replace this
"To try is we put on SQL Server tab, on Server, "clientpc\sqlexpress" and login name and password."
with this
"To try it we put on SQL Server tab, on Server textbox, "serverpc\sqlexpress" and login name and password."

Can you see anything like SQL Server Surface Area Configuration in the Start Menu? I'm not sure if SQL Server Express Edition has this tool.
If yes, check if remote connections to your database are allowed (BTW, this is what the error you posted above suggests to check).

Yes, i found SQL Server Surface Area Configuration. I clicked on Surface Area Configuration for Services and Connection. From there i set the reomote connections to TCP\Ip for both MSSMLBIZ and SQLEXPRESS. But is still the same, cannot connect. I even set the windows firewall to off, but still not connecting.

You can use T-SQL DDL statements to enforce referential integrity between tables. See this article[^] for more information.

I have a problem with a bulkinsert of csv file.The file is in the format that some columns are in the format of string and the same is terminated by a "","" charecter and some column are in the form of int and that is terminated by a "," charecter.While Bulkinserting if the column is having the comma(,) with in it, then the data is uptating for the next column.
Can anyone help me on this.

Hello,
That will always happen unless the delimiter is changed to something else eg "|". Otherwise:
1,abc,d,2
cant be 3 columns in a CSV file, because CSV=COMMA SEPERATED VALUE, so what you want is:
1|abc,d|2
which will always be 3 columns.

Adeel
Do rate the reply, if it helps or even if it doesnot, because it helps the members to know, what solved the issue. Thanks.

Hi Jibcht,
In regards to your query I would suggest you to to to SQL Server Management Studio -->Object Explorer-->Databases -->TfsWorkItemTracking -->Storage-->Full Text Catalogs--> TeamFoundationServer10FullTextCatalog.
Right-clicked and chose Rebuild.
I hope this helps .

Hello Freiends,
Can we update and Delete a record from View in Sql Server 2000
|
|
|
|
|
Ugh,
Nasty. Sometimes. I think you need a posh version of Sql Server to do it and there are restrictions - I think your view cannot span more than one table, probably others too.
Is there a problem with updating the underlying tables?

Rob Philpott.

The view can use many tables, but the UPDATE statement must reference columns from only one base table; more here[^], section Updatable Views.

Hi
I created ASP.NET 2.0 web application that uses SQL Server 2000 database and it works perfectly when website was in the runtime mode.
Then I publised application on production server.
I received the error:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server.
When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the
fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not
open a connection to SQL Server)
Why it thinks I am trying to connect to SQL Server 2005 ? There is no any
2005 server on server!
This is my connection string:
Server=servername;Database=SOX;User ID=userxxx;Password=******;

How does this answer the OP's question?
<appsettings>
<add key="string_var" value="data source=host;UID=userstring; pwd=passtring;initial Catalog=Deneme" />
</appsettings>
<connectionstrings />
Why are you not storing the connection string in the connectionStrings section? That's what it's there for
