I would rather suggest you to allow access to people based on their IP address.
Just log the IP address and Time. Whenever you want to track the PC, contact the service provider for the same IP and get its actual location.
If everyone knows MAC address from websites, there will be no hackers left in this world.

If you are tryint to get mac address to implement some kind of security restriction... I think the MAC address can be changed easily
So it could be even more effective to restrict users by ip, eventhough this ip traking wouldnt work as expected when client connect though the same public ip

You may need to change your configuration file to allow larger files. Are you using WCF or Web Service ?

i am using web service .NET 2.0. i have added following tag in my web.config file

then also i am getting the same error. Whether i should increase the timeout or maxrequest length.

A value of 4000 means 4000KB (roughly 4MB). Anything beyond this can generate the error. Try setting it to something very large just to make sure that this is what is causing the thread to abort. Also increase the executionTimeout value.

I think the thread being aborted is due to the time it requires to process the message.
I am not sure if the default time is 30 or 60 seconds, but if a requests does not returns during this time, IIS will abort the thread that is executing this code.
You may need to change this in confuguration files (in fact, you need to change the length of the requests allowed and the time to execute the requests).
Unfurtunatelly, I don't remember exactly where these values are.

Not connection time-out... page/method time-out.
Connection time-out means: The site executed properly, but the connection was lost.
In this case, the problem is probably due to the time the method is needing to finish it's execution, before it starts responding. But, to be sure, increase both.

After creating the object for invocation of method, before invocation of the method i am setting timeout property of object around 6 mins. Please suggest whether i have increase timeout value in IIS or in web.config file.Also the data which i received from external web service is not more than 4MB.

Hi all,
I am using paypal payment gateway in our site. I have integrated it successfully and able to do the payments also.When I am using the credit card to pay (without using paypal acount ) I am getting the response from paypal via POST but when I am trying to do the transactions using paypal account I am not getting any response in my site .After completion of the transaction in paypal it is showing the message like payment is successful and u will be redirected within 5 seconds and it is redirecting to my site also but no values are getting posted to me. Please can any one tell me what might be the problem .Do I need to change any configurations in my business account , so that payment response will be sent to the site .

We have to generate some graphs like Pic chart etc, based on data stored in sql server. We have to use C# only.
1. I am not sure what's the approach for this, I mean which control etc to be used
2. Is this requirement simple one or do we need to use some plug in?

Its Depends on your requirement that which chart control you want to use. If you are using .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 then Microsoft having there own chart Control. you can use them.
Or you can also have a look into Dundas Chart, Fusion Chart , which are Paid.

For .NET 2.0, There is no such Chart Control (Microsoft Chart Control) Available. You can go for some paid service like Dundas Chart or may have look around some open source chart control.

You might also consider Microsoft Reports(rdlc) to make charts.
You just need to pass the dataset to the report and the report will generate a chart for you. Rdlc's are very light weight(XML) and easy enough to implement.
