VB6 doesn't use app.config files, so I have no idea if this ies even going to work.

You'll have to put whatever information is required into a file that has the same name as your app's .EXE filename, with ".config" appended to the end of it. For example, if your applications .EXE has a filename of MyApplication.exe, then the app.config filename would be MyApplication.exe.config and would be in the same folder as the .EXE.
