If I ever get one, I'll probably try to program for it. Right now, I have no plan to have one but who knows. A good company might, one day, try to release their own tablet.

That's one way of looking at it, but if you don't change your UI to be touch based it will royally suck. I look at it this way: a PC with no keyboard (or mouse!) is certainly what powers a tablet, but the user experience is quite different. Why it was Apple that had to show everyone else that this was the case, I don't know. Though I still greatly prefer my pocket iPad, also known as the iPod Touch.

When these devices have 4GB of ram and > 200 GB of SSD. Then I can see some of my medical imaging applications running on this provided the display would be at least 2 times the size of the current ipad.

...since I'm writing Silverlight stuff, any device that supports a Silverlight browser plugin will be able to run my stuff. At this moment, only Windows devices can (or will be able to) do this, and maybe (and that's a BIG maybe) Android in the future. I doubt if Apple will change it's current aversion to Flash or Silverlight, so that pretty mnuch rules out the iFad.
Specifically targetting mobile devices? I wasn't aware that I had to if all the hype about plugins is to be believed.

While my answer is "no", it was really more of a prediction than a matter of ideology. I am happy to code for any platform - just don't believe I'll see a requirement for tablet-specific software any time soon.

Based upon the survey's current stats, NO's a rather popular answer.
To begin with, I wouldn't wast my money on the iDevice (or clone) of the Month Club's offerings.
Having no such device, I've neither the means nor incentive to spend time coding for one.
They're primarily only useful for bio-rhythm apps, anyway.
