The issue is that the reputation history shouldn't be allowing markup (especially not input fields), not that the OP doesn't know how to HTML encode markup in comments. This is a bona fide bug.

Security is the main concern nowadays in every field and we have to deal with so many security aspects/problems. I would like to suggest to have a forum based on Cyber Security issues in CP to cover most of the problems on following topics (you can suggest to add more topics).
- NIDS, HIDS, AIDS (Intrusion Detection Systems)
- EDS (Extrusion Detection System)
- Security policies e.g., Access control, Password sharing and management, etc
- Vulnerability assessment
- Attack analysis, modeling and Survivability simulation
- Physical and Environmental security
- Cryptography, Cryptanalysis

Today's meaty (bacon ?) flavored discussions on the merits and de-merits of the voting system, and anonymity, and Nish-ji's comments on distinguishing views from Members from views from Guests ... inspired me thus:
Each time a poster of a Lounge thread, comment, Q/A answer or question, Article, etc. clicks to open their own content: they have some number of points added to a new rep category: 'Narcissus.'
However, if they then edit the content in any way, the Narcissus-point is removed. Let's leave open the possibility of analysis of edits-per-unit-time which, if high frequency, may be indicative of compulsive-obsessive disorder which is inherently Narcissistic.
Other behaviors that might be appropriate for Narcissus score evaluation:
1. posting frequent updates, solicitations, screenshots, etc., on your own article or project on the Lounge (aka JSOP).
1.a. This brings the interesting idea to mind that members with a high-level rep, who post programming questions in the Lounge might be evaluated for Narcissus points.
2. answering your own questions on Q/A, and accepting your own answer.
And, of course it would be 'poetic justice' if this post itself was awarded Narcissus points ... after all, the spring where Narcissus became self-ensorcelled is located on Mt. Helicon in the same area as the sacred grove of the Muses beloved of poets ... a place where as late as the 2nd. century CE the Roman traveler, Pausanias, was still able to observe the sacred tripod won as the prize for poetry by Hesiod in the 5th. century BCE.

That is an important, potentially confounding, factor, Dave. After all, we can never know, until CP is monitoring each of us by webcam, using HomeLand Security Grade emotional analysis and intent-determination software, if the motivation of the returnee to their own content is to bask in the sparkling of their own reflected glory, or to, indeed, responsibly address questions, or comments, made upon their shining palladia.
And, then, what of those ancient-of-daze here who may be on the fringes of Alzheimer's, such as this near-late-mid-life-road-kill who dares write these words now ? Surely they deserve compassion, not tarring-and-feathering with 'Narcissism,' for their need to refresh the memory of what they thought they said.
And what about schizophrenics, or multiple-personality disorders who are too lame to use sock-puppets per personality ?
I think the only way to resolve this would be to convene a council of wise people, a synod, a conclave, to consider this issue, and to consider the issue of whether solipsism, narcissism, and perhaps other paraphilias, might be fruit-looped into one uber-category, perhaps to be titled "Naked Self-Referential Egotism." Do you think "NSRE" has a nice ring to it ?
I wonder who in CP could possibly be on such a panel ? Based on the ancient rubric "there is honor among thieves," I would suggest a poll where said hierophants ... who in the opinion of CP voters most exemplified the qualities to be considered ... could be nominated by CP members ... perhaps with extra votes added if they nominate themselves ?
As Ur-Maunder, himself, has said, many times: CP Members are the best judges.

If somebody visits an article, and scrolls all the way to the bottom, we can be reasonably certain they have read the article. If they attempt to navigate away from the page without voting, they should be prevented from doing so until they post a comment about why they have not voted. In fact, any future browsing to any page on Code Project aside from that article should redirect back to the article until they post a comment.
We really can't have these unvoters acting without accountability.

I was actually thinking of having a Kinect system and some electrical probes given to all members so that if they tried to leave their seat without voting and commenting they were given small, but ever increasing, electrical shocks.
I see it as a great way to encourage people to participate. The more painful and annoying, the more people will love it. Truly.

For members who refuse to participate, make sure to give them a way out of commenting. One option would be the 45 test. The only way to pass is to comment and the only way to avoid commenting is to fail...

This is, indeed, a "Draconian" solution ! ... no ... I'm not referring to the alien race on Dr. Who.
Perhaps your "final solution" would also be enhanced by having tracks from Sweden's Doom/Gothic Metal Band, Draconian[^], played at maximum volume ... assuming CP can disable all system level volume controls and media players ?

Nope. For subjects I'm not familiar with but willing to learn, I often look at the score, then scroll down right away to see how many MVP's have already commented, and read some of their reaction, and only then decide whether I'm going to read, skim, or skip the article.

I was just wondering about views to votes/comments ratio. Many recent C++ articles here (and not just mine) get 1000s of views but few votes/comments. Compare this to SL/ASP.NET/WPF articles which seem to attract votes/comments. I've seen SL/WPF articles get as many as 15 votes before the view count hits 500. Meanwhile a C++ article I recently posted hit 1000 views with 0 votes or comments. I've observed the same with Mike Dunn's recent Windows 7 articles (most excellent I may add).
I feel that C++ articles are read more by guests here than members. And based on Lounge discussions, it seems CPians are predominantly a managed crowd these days. I just wanted some actual data to back up my theory
[if it's too much load to do this for everyone, could you at least enable it for gold/platinum-only?]

I just think C++ devs are of a higher calibre and deeply introspective. They are the strong, silent types who need comment only when necessary, unlike the chattering magpies in the web/UI development world.
