Off the top of my head I can't think of any.
The contents of the child are dependent on the value chosen in the parent, so if the choice of the child changed the choice (or worse changed the values) of the parent, then that could change the values available in the child, which could cause a change in the parent... A touch recursive...

The only reason I can think of where the reverse control may be an option is where the child menu wants to 'go back' or 'remove filter' etc.
e.g.
parent options = {BMW, Mercedes, All}
child options = {[318,320,540,M3,M5,Remove Filter],[220,C63, SLS,Remove Filter]}
Selecting Remove Filter in the child options, might select the 'All' in the parent.
Just off the top of my head, probably would never actually want to do that, but that's what jumped out of the grey matter....

I must admit that I've worked with controls that filter each other. And as far as I'm concerned, that's an idiocy that only a certain kind of managers can come up with.

I have used multiple combo boxes (for different criteria) to filter a dataset. Depending on how fancy you want to make your logic, you could assign Parent/Child relationships on the order selected...either that or allow the user to possibly select an invalid combination.

I broke down and ordered a Beagle Bone Black[^] as opposed to the RaspberryPi which so many on here have. I did a lot of research before ordering and the BBB I believe has more to offer a hobbyist like myself that has experience with the Arduino line of uControllers.
Now the bad news, it is on back order until Jan. 5. No one has any.

I don't really have a project in mind just want to learn and play.
I will probably do some C/C++ but really want to do some Python development, still in the early learning stages but I think I should be able to get up to speed fairly quickly.

I sure hope so, Bill! Although most of them are rather unlovely by any definition, a few might look rather fetching in nothing at all, and I'd appreciate seeing them in such a state. Particularly on a chilly day, if only to have a good excuse to offer one such lass a warm fur wrap to keep her wimples narm.
