My condolences to your to your father. Most people in the West have never seen the effects of that miserable disease. My father was stricken by it before I was born, but I know how it has affected his life. He would never wear short pants because of the disfigurement to his left leg. Now at 85 years old, his doctor shows him to younger doctors so that they can see the effects of a disease that hopefully none of them will never have to treat.

I would think that the best thing that you could teach him is that he still has much to contribute. So instead of teaching an old dog a new trick, how about getting him involved in teaching young pups that they are not as smart as their mommies tell them. Granted this will really depend a lot on your father's personality, but I found most elder people really enjoy passing on knowledge. If he does not have the temperament to deal with young kids, them maybe he could teach adults. There are many options to consider from this business knowledge to possibly adult literacy classes.
