Not by a long chalk; outside of the US few people have even heard of it. I was invited to a Super Bowl party (in Colorado) some years ago, when the Broncos were playing the Cheeseheads (can't remember the team's real name); probably the most boring afternoon I have ever spent in fromt of a TV screen.

American football is incredibly boring. I was born in the US, I've lived here all my life, I grew up with family and friends who were addicted to watching... and I still don't get what all the excitement is all about.

Unfortunately, if you watched Channel 4[^] any time in the couple of months leading up to the last one, you'd probably have had it rammed down your throat. They seemed to be under the impression that UK viewers would want to watch it, to the extent that they would stay up overnight to watch it live, and then phone in sick on the Monday morning.

Chanel #4? Those rotters? They sneak in a recent series of the Simpsons without telling, then repeat the old ones every two weeks. Back in '83 when they started, they showed 'The Prisoner' in the 6 slot.
As recently as '96 they were showing 'The Avengers' with Diana Rigg and Honor Blackman from back in the day.
Now they show things like 'Coach Trip' or that dining party programme where everybody has had a personality bypass.
Traumatic.
Since we went digital we've got '13 channels of sh!t on the TV to choose from.'
All in all, they're just another brick in the wall.

Any sporting event you do not have a passion for is boring. Take soccer. 
I like baseball but even I think it is boring at times.

The reason I found it boring is because of the amount of time when absolutely nothing was happening. Even in the slowest of other sports (many of which I don't follow) the action keeps going.

When you combine Apple's massive cash reserves, existing iTunes multi-currency capabilities and ubiquitous hardware it seems fairly straight forward to me - Apple should get into international personal banking.*
(*Probably best if they get someone else to write the software but that's an implementation detail)
Signs and portents:
* Banking is going mobile (for example mPaysa etc.)
* People are becoming more mobile - increasingly you can expect to live in many different countries in your life
* A greater percentage of person-to-person transfers are small amounts cross jurisdiction

I am guessing that if Apple did go into personal banking it would require the following:
You can only deposit Apple's approved currency in your account - no currency other than the approved currency will be accepted.
You will only be able to access your bank account online through the iBanking application, there will be no web portal.
If you need to go into a branch for any reason you will need to organise an appointment with one of their Gnus beforehand.
The account will charge you a huge premium just for the privilege of being part of the club.

I am trying to organise two new Broadband installs for sites where we need a fixed IP for Web Enabled CCTV installation.
Called Virgin...Too busy will call back later
Called BT..."No-one answering sales, can I take a number"
Called Eclipse...Just kept on hold for 15 mins before I put the phone down.
I did manage to get through to Talk Talk, and got an answer, and was pleased with the price.
It is just that, well, it is Talk Talk...kinda crappy...but still dirt cheap. £18 per month for unlimited at 17Mb and a fixed IP, throw in a free router and install.

Firm I work for was due to move last year but because Virgin Media use of multiple contractors we are still in the old office with half the stuff needed at the new...

Pretty much all UK domestic IP's default to fixed. The router will devolve that to DHCP your side, so you might still need port forwarding set up if you run a site from home.
I tried that for a couple of years, until I realised that leaving a server running 24/7 plus my time was more expensive than a professionally supported account with a company such as EvoHosting. Plus they gave me bandwidth!

Here in Tropical Woking the wind is hard to walk against, I just had to walk upwind across the garden, with skin pealing rain and the ground is totally waterlogged. The water table here is only about 30-60 cm and we no longer have a lawn but a bog.
