The difference is slight, but there.
I personally do not like maths either, yet I like to optimize my architecture and SW design (algorithms) - I guess in my case it is 'abstract math' versus 'exciting real life data'. Plus, I don't mind doing math if it leads to something that is actually used rather than an entry in a textbook I'll probably never going to look at again.
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

You see, I'd argue that algorithms are an expression of mathematical logic. People seem to have taken "maths" to mean high-falutin' theory somehow.

Actually he didn't really say "maths", did he?

So far I didn't need any math either (except stuff like a customer orders 100kg of a product and has to pay $10 per kg...). That's the sort of math I can understand.
When it gets a bit rougher I say N(O) to math though

That must be from the newest installment in the Sharknado franchise: Bunnynado
What is this talk of release? I do not release software. My software escapes leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.

So I'm a dev manager and our QC lead who is gaining proficiency in coding, though is by no means even a junior programmer has taken it upon himself to directly fix some easy bugs. This is certainly a faster way to get things fixed as our dev resources are severely limited. So far it's restricted to typos/grammar mistakes in hard-coded string UI messages and that type of thing. Good or bad? Thoughts?

Very, very bad.
