Heh, sounds like VS would be running mighty slow. The few times I've used it (I'm a firmware engineer) on my work desktop the IDE was not very quick. Running something like VS or Eclipse on a constrained device like a phone sounds painful to me.

Sounds like a Motorola Atrix + Bluetooth keboard + Remote Desktop via Citrix.
Plug the HDMI into the 1920x1080 TV, login via the Remote Desktop.
Oh, no! I forgot the mouse!
To me there is no "future" to the mobile phone in the current foot print..
The phone should be a communication brick/hotspot with switchable batteries (pocket sized to purse sized) that communicates with your display/app device, bluetooth headset, car, etc.

Just go back in time 5 years, switch from MS dev to *nix and buy an N900. Now you root on a video out capable phone in your pocket with a USB port and 3G.

That sounds exactly like the kind of device! I'd love to learn UNIX good but I'm struggling to keep up with the MS stuff! I suppose as soon as it can be done, someone will do it, roll on 5 years iii

I concur.
I've been waiting for such a smart phone to come out. The iPhone and the Android phone does not repair its file system automatically and it takes a series of somewhat complicated steps to install fsck on the Android.

Microsoft should have the start menu in windows 9 for desktop users. I think using a touch screen for programmers can get annoying. It would be cool to still have the windows store but without metro and use shortcuts to store apps on the desktop (as the windows 8 start menu was originally called when it came out). Windows phone 7 was a good phone they just needed more hardware manufacturers to jump in to make them. I had the Samsung Focus Flash as my phone and dropped it face down many times on the ground without a case. I put the battery back in and it kept working. I wonder why that phone survived my rough treatment? I think windows phone needs to have more hardware manufacturers support it and it will succeed. I now see them at Wal-Mart and normal grocery stores. I bypassed the windows 8 computer and kept windows 7 on my laptop. However, I do have a windows 8 phone that I received as a gift this summer. I think more highly of it then windows 8 but still like my windows 7 phone because it was extremely durable and functioned under high stress conditions. Hope I do not sound like a phone abuser.

Perhaps it says something about my confidence in CodeProject compared to my confidence in MS Support that I ask this here
Thanks for your time !
Since installing the release update three for Version 12.0.30723.00 Update 3, it normally crashes the first time I launch it with the message:
"The 'SccProviderPackage' package did not load correctly. If I launch it a second time, it usually launches successfully.
I've tried running the update 3 installer again using the 'Repair option, but no change.
Examining the activity log doesn't give much more information:

Well, well, well....
At work I had issue, but Update 3 fixed them!
At home it was all fine, but now on every boot up I get some error message with the debugger service!...

Update 3 got rid of the icons for third-party controls in the WinForms toolbox. It also has caused a number of other various problems, including crashes.
Update 2 caused a weird error, where the first time I start to type <see cref="..." /> in an XML doc block after starting VS, a dialog stating "Visual Studio 2013 has stopped working..." will pop up, but not really do anything. Canceling the dialog goes right back to VS, with no other instances of that issue. Update 3 didn't fix it (it actually broke several other things, although I am not that surprised. Is is M$ after all...)

It's set in London, and there is this scene where Chloe is in a pub (to use their Wifi I think) and she is on the phone with Jack.
They keep talking about how she is currently in the pub, and where she is going after the pub, and how far Jack is away from the pub, it's bloody cringeworthy!
Americans should be banned from saying that oh so sacred word.

Never watched the show, but maybe I'll head to the pub to watch it. I wonder how many people will be in the pub when I go? or if the pub has a decent selection of ? Perhaps I'll call the pub to find out. If I do go, I'll have to text the missus to meet me at the pub. I hope it's a gastropub as I am hungry. Hell even I'm getting sick of this.....

So in other words, she had to go to the pub to jack in so she could yack with Jack about getting jacked up? Really, I don't care jack sh*t.
Incidentally, we have a very nice pub down the road. Google Main Street Public House, Philmont NY.
Oh heck, Here's their FB page.[^]

So, well over a year ago I bought a house.
Well over a year ago they started constructing my house.
A little over a year ago my house (and the entire row of houses) sank into the ground because construction errors were made in the foundation...
About three months later I learned that attempts to fix the foundation had failed and that the houses sank even further.
Last march, when I was supposed to get my house, they started rebuilding it from scratch instead.
And now, finally, after all this time, my house will be ready on the 18th of september!
Luckily (for me and my fellow buyers) the project was fixed price. We even got some monetary compensation for the waiting.
If I hurry it up I might even celebrate my 27th birthday in my own house.
Yes, I wasn't in a hurry to get out of my parents house

Congrats! It is a nice feeling to be in your own home. Did you get some sort of guaranty (or independent review) that the houses won't sink in the future?

Thanks!
I didn't, but I know the length of the piles they used before and the length they used now and the length of the surrounding houses.
And some independent builders recommended the new length.
