Well, as it's designed to go hand in hand with the new programming curriculum in schools, why would you expect it to be made available outside the UK?
|
|
|
|
|
But they don't "make things available" to other countries. They make it available globally, and then actively ban everyone except the UK.
If the only excuse is "but it's not useful elsewhere", why go through the trouble?

It's the beeb. Stupidity is ingrained. How else do you explain Clarkson?

It's not so much expectation, but why not? I don't see the reason for keeping it local only except if they are going to license it outside the UK and so gain financially.

It will be available internationally when the tablet version is released, early 2015.

Cool, I hope that's true. My wife went crazy yesterday when she found out she couldn't "play" from here...

You are lucky Dave isn't around here at the moment saying things like that.
I think the series is good in general, with a couple of exceptions.

TBH, I haven't even bothered watching the last two.

The two I didn't really like were "Into the Dalek" and "Robot of Sherwood" I would agree those two are a bit "toned right down to childrens' show level" But I think the rest of the series is very good.
I especially liked "Listen" and "Flatline". It just proves you can't please all of the people all of the time.

Traditionally I have been glued to the screen as soon as the show is aired.
I recorded the last two and watched them both after the 2nd aired.
Actually seemed to be improving, but still not up to scratch for me.

I've got the added task of finding Chinese subtitles and re-timing them to match my recordings.
I really can't be bothered to make that much effort.

As they say in Thuthex.
The issue with the ethics is that I can't be seen to be telling kids to "illegally download" stuff. They do anyway, but I can't be seen to condone it. Telling them to install Hula just can't happen.
Of course, I can point them to a discussion on CP about the issue...

Australian Paul Goudie forgot (to bathe), and, well, kitty got a little playful: note: skip the obnoxious ad and jump to 19 seconds into the video: [^].
It's a great credit to Paul that he bears no ill will towards kitty for the kind of nip-and-tuck that comes so naturally to these Celestial Beings in Feline Form.

Just no. I was at the zoo at feeding time one day. The tigers were no where to be seen - until the handler dropped dinner in. BOOM! tiger hit that meat with one jump. Again, just no.
They asked Jacque Cousteau what he was thinking about when he got ready to dive. He answer, "I'm reminding myself I'm entering the food chain and not at the top."
Next we'll have swim with the alligators
