I've not heard a lot, although what I've heard is great. I think he was on "Later" once.
Talking of younger blues guitarists, have you heard Joanne Shaw Taylor? We saw her live last year. She also rocks. some of her stuff in the show was tending a little to funk which is not my favourite, but her Texas style stuff is pretty damn good.
She's easy on the eyes too and seems a nice humble lady. English, but living in the US.

While on a less well known Blues artist theme, did you ever listen to Steamhammer? They were one of my favourite Blues bands (late 60s, early 70s I think). They were one of those groups that had two lead guitarists. It was great how the two leads would weave around each other sometimes, then play together for a chorus effect at others.
I have their first album on CD and I think I have their second on vinyl (retirement project: get all my vinyls digitised!)
Now I'm really musing: ... Chicken Shack ... Blodwyn Pig ... The Hamsters ... time to put Bluesbreakers on (it was Who's Next yesterday!)

She's not to bad but the only stuff I could find on YouTube was live and recording wasn't great, but she definitely has a lot of talent.
IMHO SRV is the greatest blues guitarist ever. One of my favorites by him is Voodoo Chile[^]

Mike, there are a few tracks at clickety[^]. I'm sure she's sent out some download links from her fb page from time-to-time. My son-in-law is the sound guy at Oakville Theatre, so we got some comps for her show there last year.
I'm a sucker for Little Wing myself. I have it by Clapton, Hendrix and SRV (I might have a Roy Buchanan version too!) I'm not sure about the greatest, it's very subjective and Clapton, Page and Beck (amazing that they all played in the same group!)may have claims (what about Hendrix playing the Blues!) and so many more. Jeff Beck does take some beating, possibly not for just Blues per se, but some of his techniques are jaw dropping. He goes way beyond tap chords, at times switching hands between picking and fretting. He did a version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow on "Later" a while back that was just amazing for precision, almost completely feedback and tremelo.
Another note on SRV, I saw his brother a couple of years back, it's like listening to a ghost! Perhaps Jimmy isn't quite to the heights of Stevie, but it sounded very close. The man was a genius, no doubt about it.

Yeah Little Wing is right up there. I had a room mate that was a hell of a guitar player that could play Little Wing like SRV, he had a lot of talent but problems that kept him from being great.
Your right there are so many great guitarist that it's hard to pick a 'best' because they all are great in there own way.
Another great guitarist that grew up in Jacksonville, Fl is Derek Trucks, the guy is awesome.
Used to watch him when he was 11 years old, he played with various bands around town and at the beach. My late neighbor and great friend was his aunt so we went to see him occasionally when he played locally. His wife, Susan Tedeschi is a hell of a blues singer also.

When you mentioned Derek Trucks, I knew I'd heard the name. A quick check on Wikipedia confirmed - it was his association with the Allman Brothers. He had big shoes to fill there, Duane was undoubtedly another great.
Did you get to see the Allmans before they made it big? Jacksonville is clearly blessed!

I got an unsolicited phone call from TechStork claiming that I have security errors on my Windows computer. They claimed that they know this because my computer sends them my event log and they know my name a phone number because they know my Microsoft license number.
Has anyone gotten such a phone call? And would Windows be sending my event log without my knowledge or consent?

You didn't give them any personal details, or let them remote into your computer did you?

They know your name and phone number because they just phoned you and looked up your number in the phone book.
Their aim is to convince you you have computer problems and to then sell you a fix.
They are scam artists of the worst sort - but amazing fun to string along.

So ask them what your licence no is! Then ask them for the evidence from your event log so you can double check their claim. Then string them along for as long as possible without parting with any personal information or downloading anything.
My record is 28 minutes so far, but then I get quite a few of these.
