Spanish royal - King Alfonso of Spain
Mother's ruin = Gin (an obvious one for Nagy)
Spanish royal = Real
Put "gin" in "real" to get "reginal".

He's trying to get elected and doesn't want the great unwashed of Luton to find out what he really thinks of them so has gone into internet exile (Facebook).

We ... could ...interfere *evil grin* !
I wonder whether he will come back after being elected. I was also elected last year (on a much much smaller scale, actually the smallest possible), but I reckon I am acting a bit different since then -> always shaking hands, going more towards people for small talk, trying not to do all these inappropriate things I did before Probably silly, but I'd be very ashamed to be caught acting like a fool while having been elected by the fellow co-citizens, and, to some extent, being their representative.

Nothing really worth mentioning. A few discussions about spam/voting/banning/reinstating/moderating/Q&A/homework, well, the usual stuff. The CCCWSO is pretty cool, though conversed. The lounge got phased yesterday. And IE will eventually die, a damn long agony if you ask --- but fully deserved
And I ordered chocolate yesterday in the kindergarten of my daughter (organized to collect funds to buy new games/stuff for the kids) Yep, two weeks remaining and it is eastern.

Just so you know: the current version is "Winner Stays On" - whoever solves it first has to set it the following workday. Nobody solves it, you do it again, and again, then it goes back to whoever wrote the clue you solved, and so on.
It's not half bad: it's harder writing the damn things than solving them, but you get a good mix of styles.

It's fine for me - plenty fine.
It's possible they have a dying webserver again - did you make a note of the "Webnn" code in the bottom left? (Web01 is fine, as is Web02, Web03 rocketing along as well)

Then I managed to log in and refresh the page about 2 times.
Now it runs smoothly.

I had that issue yesterday noon for about 10 minutes. Afterwards all was OK again with fast loading.
But there was a time out when hitting the post button.
Interestingly the number of users online shown on the top is quite low with this issue when getting a connection again.
