I would suspect that, when you posted the original CCC, it was just after midnight, your time, hence, Tuesday or 'now'

You were on the right track, but it was posted Tuesday night for me. (now Wednesday morning) About the only parts of the world that it would have been Monday was maybe west USA to the date line. But was for 30 June.

I'm putting together a fake Spanish wedding, however I know nothing about Spanish weddings.
The UK last year implemented an almost complete blanket ban on taking your kids out of school during term times. Some schools will allow you to do so for extraordinary reasons, such as a wedding, if you can provide a wedding invitation.
I know someone who makes such things and is prepared to create whatever I ask for.
The back story I have so far for my fake Spanish wedding, and my attendance at it, is as follows.
A old mate of mine from university is getting married to a Spanish lady, she wants to get married back in the bosom of her family.
So, fill out the story for me, I need a location somewhere around the Costa Del Sol, I need a name for the señorita, what day is the wedding likely to be on, is there any specific information that is likely to be on the invite, are there any particular customs about Spanish weddings, before / during / after, that I could be made aware of, any other detail you want to suggest to pad out my story.
Obviously I don't need to go to so much trouble, but if you're going to invent something, might as well flesh it out as much as possible, otherwise I'm going to have to concentrate on work instead.

Thanks for the idea, I'll probably do the same at the end of the year.
Let us know if it works.

Younger's school has said off the record that they're expecting a lot of children to 'call in sick' on the last two days; Monday and Tuesday.

A friend told the School that they and the kids were going on Holiday in the half-term, in fact they had actually booked it for the week before half-term. They then phoned in sick for the week before, went on Holiday and when the kids went back to School they were free to talk about it as the Teachers wouldn't know which week they actually went.

A week is stretching it a bit, but it depends how much the school really cares. You have to phone in each morning, but no issue doing that from almost anywhere in the world these days.

We'll Some people I know will do the last two days. For us them, going before the main schools break up in the UK is noticeable on the motorways and when you're trying to cover 1,000 miles in a day that matters a lot.

I thought that for those who paid large sums of money for their children's education breaking up before the main schools was part of the deal.

Only Biggerer is at public school, the MkII is still in the state sector for another year. Though come next summer we have no elephant idea if we'll even stay in the UK.

Well no, if the referendum goes the wrong way you'll be slung out back to Hungaria.

Cameron's already decided we'll be staying in. After the vote representation thingy and the Scottish Referendum he thinks(and knows) that he can influence the outcome of this one too.

Yeah! With all those school fees, you can't afford the holiday price hikes on flights.

Not sure if She did that, I'll ask. If it was me I'd just phone in on the Monday and say they have Tonsillitis she'll be off all week.
See somebody on the box giving advice on how to sidestep it. The Scots have a slightly different holiday period than us, they break-up a week before or a week after, so you can fly from a Scotch Airport when there kids are still at school at the cheap rate.

It's still mostly cheaper to pay the fine should you get one than to fork out for a holiday during the school holidays.
I found myself looking at forest holidays recently, looking for a short break with the dog during October half term. The prices for the week after half term were exactly half of those during it.

Yeah agree. That's why the Scots bit. If you fly from an airport there while their kids are still in School (but ours have broke-up) you get the out of school holiday price.
