Unfortunately, it was quite humid and oppressive with no breeze of any kind. There was a rain storm one afternoon which did clear the air for a while, but back to normal the next morning. i am used to heat in the 80/90s with the odd foray over 100 (it gets very hot where I live but rarely humid and cools down at night, usually) but not like that.
Tip: never go to Phoenix at the height of the summer!

Unfortunately it took so long to get to this state that I have forgotten what exactly I wanted all these packages for...

Reminds me of how I have been working on some OAuth connection software together with all the dependencies and the fixes I had to make to the dependencies to get the project to work - it filled me with a certain horror that there is all this seemingly bloated code that may break at any point.

Seriously, I have not had too much trouble with Nuget. Much easier on enterprise apps then tracking down your own, IMHO.

I experienced some problems with versioning, especially when one dependency bumped its version which broke some other dependency that hadn't updated yet to use the newer version. The automatic update thing (probably can be disabled) ended up breaking the libraries I was using for that reason. Then, there's the issue that often times I use the same package in multiple projects. I like to keep things in a "libs" or some-such folder, and not have to configure NuGet packages for every time I want to reference a third party component.
So:
1: version hell
2. auto-update hell
3. doesn't fit my workflow

I'm not a fan of it either. Never been a fan of magical dependencies. Although I've learned to tolerate NPM, I still think should actually know what goes into their software instead of use magical bells and whistles.

I use Paket[^] to manage dependencies.
I'm loving it so far. NuGet without all the oddities.
