I hate to say it but we can usually tell how an interview is going within 30 seconds.
If you've made it through the front door for an interview chances are the company has already vetted your resume, references and technical skills (or they should have: it's simple enough to do before the interview and saves everyone time).
The interview itself is about whether you want to spend 8hrs a day for the foreseeable future, through thick and thin, with this person.

My mother, for whatever reason, was called "Tim" from the time she was young. We don't know how it happened, but...
When she moved to the city I grew up in as a young woman, she interviewed for a job as a waitress... the owner was only told the person coming in was called Tim, but not the gender.
When she arrived, the owner said, "This is the first time I've met a 'Tim' with bumps in the sweater."
So, your comment made me smile at the memory of my mother telling that story.

Apple is building a self-driving car in Silicon Valley, and is scouting for secure locations in the San Francisco Bay area to test it, the Guardian has learned. Documents show the oft-rumoured Apple car project appears to be further along than many suspected.
In May, engineers from Apple’s secretive Special Project group met with officials from GoMentum Station, a 2,100-acre former naval base near San Francisco that is being turned into a high-security testing ground for autonomous vehicles. Who's next? Microsoft?

If you are a company that monetises data (Google, Apple , Microsoft, Facebook) you have to do vehicle automation because vehicle are what we could call "big input".

Samsung just might have the holy grail of batteries on their hands. The company, in collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has figured out a way to make batteries last 'indefinitely'. I'd be happy with "a couple of hours"

I invented a smart phone which ran on water -- no batteries reqired, you just had to shake it once every day -- but the big companies suppressed the technology because they wanted to keep selling batteries. Oh well.
