That's true. But I've given it some thought, and actually I don't believe that that whole graph is accurate.
At least as far as I am concerned, the curve starts out low, rises with the percentage until a given point where it drops suddenly.
I think I'll have to investigate further. Who knows, I might write myself into BOTH medical AND computer science history in one go. I realise of course that it's going to take a long time and a lot of tests, but I guess I'll have to make that sacrifice for science!
That is: Unless Nagy is already further along in those studies than me ???

You manipulated the inverse of quote a little bit (and wrongly so):
It should be "All the miserable people I know are that way because they are working badly on something they consider important or they have jobs which they consider unimportant."
It doesn't state anything about not working.
Are all people that are retired considered to be unhappy?
Otherwise I like it.

That's a good point, but I wasn't thinking about people who don't have a job.
I was thinking more along the lines of someone who really isn't working on anything they themselves consider important but still have the ability to do so.

This idea is false. I'm retired, not working on a damn thing, and am very happy.
OTOH, I think I was happiest when I had my sci-tech advisor job in Iraq, because I was able to do it well, and considered that it might save a soldier, which I believed to be very worthwhile, so yeah, if you must work, then yeah, the premise is true.

Hi All,
Currently I am in the process of using VS 2005 for a project with no problems. But as an aside I thought I would try a later version of VS to see if it can be upgraded with out problems. So I go to download VS latest express, and find 2015 Community edition. Not an Express doesn't appear to be limited. Is this really what I think it is (full & free)? I take it M$ are spying on you some how? Or are they giving the Keys to Kingdom away (I feel the need to listen to the Spin Doctors!)

Pretty much yes - it's the full version, and it's free.
There are terms and conditions though - mostly related to the size of your company - and you should read them carefully: MICROSOFT VISUAL STUDIO COMMUNITY 2015[^] though there is a syummary at the bottom of here: Free Dev Tools - Visual Studio Community 2015[^]
Be aware that if you upgrade a project to VS2015, you won't be able to open it again in VS2005. I would recommend good, solid backups before I started experimentation. If you are using VS2005 on original period hardware, you may find 2015 far, far too sluggish to use...

I haven't migrated to 2015 yet - I only moved to 2013 last year - and I have found that my new SSD makes it really usable! Load time is about 6 or 7 seconds from click to "ready to code" instead of a couple of minutes, and compilation seems faster as well. I suspect that MS developers all have nice fat pipes, and nice big SSD's...and don't give a rat's ass about anyone else.

My biggest issue going from 10 to 15 on my work laptop is that 10 was small enough I could normally run 2 instances and have enough headroom for the rest of my software and mandatory corporate bloat in 8gb of ram. 15's big enough that having 2 copies running will generally start swap chugging when I switch to whatever major application I used least recently. On days when the bloatware is feeling particularly hungry (I've occasionally seen both MsMpEng and the servicehost running updates bloat to >1gb each at the same time and squat there for hours) I've had it happen with only one instance of 15 running.

Bearing in mind, the opening time, the fact that I am pretty much used to the 2005/08 interface and the speed I will not upgrade the project. It's just a relay card that I was looking at using came with an example using Vis C# 2010 so I thought to upgrade itand just use it for reference.

The interface is pretty much the same (in the case of 2013, once you get rid of the Goth look, and the SHOUTY menu). But the later versions of C# and .NET do include some pretty useful stuff, that wasn't in 2005.
