Your tap water isn't laced with estrogen precursors though. It's not quite the same as what you get in cheap plastic bottle. (And it's not just Bis-Phenol A; although as the one most widely used it's far more studied than the others what research has been done on other chemicals similar enough to serve the same use in plastic suggests that they also have the same effect on the human body. Shocking! I know! /sarc)
