Not sure if this has been discussed lately (lots of noise from all the Microsoft haters), but you can still get Windows 10 as an upgrade for free.
I just purchased a refurbished laptop that came with Windows 7. I downloaded the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool[^], ran it and chose Upgrade to Windows 10.
Very fast, very simple. No problems. 3rd upgrade I've done and not a single problem yet.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.

Also worked for me 2 weeks ago when I installed from the installer USB and selected Windows 10 Professional x64 with no key, then when I booted in to Windows 10 entered a Windows 7 Professional key from the sticker on the side and it activated with no issues.

A lot of OEM machines were pre-registered in the Microsoft database, so you can update them to 10 even now...

Go on, do a deep filling - why don't you? Oh and while you're at it, why not make sure that the filling starts to kill the nerve. Okay, so changed dentists now and the first procedure he's going to have to do on me is a root canal. Oh joy.

Not a lot of fun - I've had one after a filling was put in that quickly became temperature sensitive.
But...it's uncomfortable while it;s done, but it doesn't take too long and the pain from the tooth vanishes and never comes back. Which is well and truly worth it.
I just wish there was a way to send your teeth to the dentist via FedEx and get 'em back two days later...

Same here. Why I'm annoyed is because this appears to be the sole fault of my last dentist. The new one was horrified at how much had been "filled". His impression was that the last one was done by someone who was new to the industry; he got that spot on.

Looks like this "bug" of the dentist had serious and bad consequences for you. 
Thats only one reason because I prefer staying healthy and going to work instead to the doctor
