Now, anyone know how you get these research programmes funded? Because I've got a couple of ideas regarding QA...

I often think that the Ig Nobel brigade deserve their own award for daftness.
Yes, some of the research listed is seriously stupid but things on there like finding that people scratching whilst looking in the mirror ease itches on the other side of their body are clearly interesting and valuable.
Knowing whether horse-flies like light or dark may not solve the ultimate question of live, the universe and everything but it does add something, however trivial, to the sum of human knowledge.
I can't help thinking that if the Ig Nobel committee spent time actually investigating stuff rather than getting all smug and sarcy about the efforts of others, the world might be a marginally better place.

We got localised in Singapore recently, I was so infuriated I cancelled Netflix. I now wait a few days and download instead.

Netflix has proclaimed war upon VPN users. If they find out they ban your account. So you can't really use a VPN service provider... Of course that isn't because they wanted to (they are losing paying customers that way), but because they were forced to do so by the content providers who still want to cling on to territorial licensing.

It's difficult to understand why some things can be seen in some countries and some others not... given you are paying for it... It would probably be better to pay a small fee for being outside of the given country, but instead of that one must rely on pirated goods when initially the user wanted to pay for them... 
Anyway, given what you say my original post has no sense... Thank you for clarifying!

Well yeah. A lot of people did that before. But it just isn't a safe option any longer. The issue are those "time exclusive rights" that are sold to television companies. They own the right to show it in a given territorial area (and those contracts often last for many years, including newer episodes and seasons).
Netflix has even sold the rights to some of their own productions to European television companies (when Netflix was basically US only). So they can't even provide those on their own platform when releasing a new episode. And unless you're willing to pay for a whole bundle of stuff you don't care about for watching one single series there isn't really a legal way for watching it.
As I don't want to do that, I just wait another year for it to appear as BlueRay/DVD (still cheaper that TV subscription) or to appear on FreeTV.

As times goes I can successfully build my (Xamarin iOS/Android) project less and less.
And by that I don't mean compilation error bug.
I mean I got deployment failed error almost all the time now (InstallPackageAssemblies failed: path null, wtf is that error?)(or allegedly I don't have the required platform SDK, I must install it with SDK manager. problem is, I already have all SDKs for all platform versions installed, what else can I install now hey?!)... And it gets worse with each update....
I am really... tired of that sh*t....
Uninstalling everything now (Visual Studio, Xamarin, emulators) and will try a new clean install....

Well I can't compare with the other platform specific tools since I haven't used them... (Save for WIndows phone0
But, when it works, resulting app looks and behave just like any other native app on Android/iOS/Windows phone! 
And it's mostly multi platform code (mostly, still some platform specific renderer and OS service code)
However... The whole tooling have some stability issues... :'(
Obviously they use Xamarin at Xamarin. I wonder how they could miss them?!

yeeeeup.
I got all my family and friends off the "cloud" around January this year.
So we are just watching the world burn from afar scratching our heads.
I understand it is not practical for most people to do this, but damn. You give your data to Yahoo and Facebook and wonder why it's misused.
